BinaryArchitecture and Paragon Equipment have teamed up to create an awesome personal transportation experience.
Getting Started
------------------
1. Unpack your new gear by rezzing and clicking the crate
2. Wear the HUD and Jetpack
Using the HUD
------------------
Click any of the themes along the bottom bar to select a new theme. If you would like to theme the jetpack in parts, click
pieces of it on the HUD to "mask them out". This will cause the theming system to ignore those parts when applying a new
theme. To quickly deselect all currently masked out parts, please click Deselect on the HUD.
To store the Jetpack along the left side of the screen please click the "Jetglide" button on the right of the HUD near the Power
Level indicator.
Using the Jetpack
------------------
There are two ways to use the Jetpack; mouselook and third person control.
The easiest is to enter mouselook, jump to engage flight and hold forward to apply thrust.
Alternatively, from the HUD, ALT Cam control can be enabled. To begin flying jump and to steer while in third-person mode,
click and hold on the jetpack and move your mouse to steer.
Extra Features
------------------
To quickly gain altitude from standing, rapidly press jump.
To burst forward, double tap forward thrust.
To disable the jetpack midflight, rapidly press page down/c.
Additional Notes
------------------
This jetpack comes with free updates for life.
Takes practice
Despite what some people are saying, this actually has a learning curve to fly. but once you master it you can time your glides so you dont run out of fuel.
I wish controls didnt require me to hold down the lmb tho
I don't know why they rate it badly, the article is great.
Do not get carried away by the negative reviews of this article, it meets its objective and is quite entertaining!
Deactivate holding for flight in your preferences, for a real experience.
Looks good, functions janky
This jetpack LOOKS amazing, and the effects are nice, but the implementation of its actual functionality is less than ideal. You have to jump (without flying) to get it to deploy and engage its own special vehicle controls.
This would be much better off being a vanity item that activates when you fly normally (and optioanlly increases fly speed), as opposed to being a 'vehicle'.
Maybe just a demo?
I tried the demo, but couldn't get the wings to spread. Even when I started to fly. I clicked everything in the HUD and they just didn't spread. Plus there's no custom flight animations, no thrusters/flames/streams of light, and only a power up sound effect. So it's really just a basic accessory, instead of a fun item to use. However, it does look great, and the texture options are nice.
PS. It has the coolest demo box EVER! Purchase it, just to watch the box open ^_^
