This tree casts a shadow that moves as the sun moves across the sky. Between the leaves and the shadow there are “sun beams” that point at the shadow. The tree only casts a shadow during the brightest part of the day and does not cast a shadow in the evening night and morning. If you want to see what the shadow looks like at any time, click on the trunk and the shadow will demonstrate a whole day's worth of moving shadow in a minute!
This tree also folds up its leaves at night or on a touch. I originally designed this as an ultra-low tree for building offsim items. But sculpted leaves gives this tree a so much detail in only a few prims that I decided to make this 'onsim' version as a decorative tree for everyone else.
Left click on the trunk of the tree and it will demonstrate a days worth of shadow movement in a minute!
Left click on the palm leaves and they will fold down or up. They also fold down at dusk and open back up at dawn. Yes I know there is no species of palm tree in RL that does this. Fortunately this is SL and I can make a tree do interesting behavior if I want to! Anyone, not just the owner, may click on the palm leaves to make them fold/unfold or click on the trunk to see the shadow move.
