The sound of the thunder can also be adjusted for volume..just touch for a menu.

Not bad at all
After reading the reviews I understood that it might not have the greatest sound script in it and it might flash to often, with that in mind I bought and put it on the the corner of the sim and it seems to be fine for my needs. I do wish it had a sound script that allowed it to be turned off seeing as my rain system has amazing thunder. for its price, not worth it. Sound sucks and continuous lightning was not what i had in mind
Though the lightening texture is ok, the audio is not particularly great. Also, no resize option is limiting. For small lightening effects, it works ok.
