Pattens were a slip-on clog worn over shoes during medieval through Victorian eras. Women wore them to elevate their skirts above the filth of the streets or barnyards. They also protected the fragile soles of their shoes from wear on rough pavements.
This pair is are a close copy of a pair of English pattens from the early 1800s, probably worn by a housemaid or farm girl. Other shapes were used, with the only constant design being that they could be slipped over the wearer's shoes, and they were elevated off the floor by several inches.
Pattens were also worn by working class men in some occupations, such as fish mongers and butchers. If you want a pair sized for men, PM me here or drop a notecard in my inventory in-world.
Comes with: pattens, a black Regency era shoe base (shown), and a transparent shoe base that shows your toes.

Second Life の商品を表示As a medieval rp'er, I love these pattens for the winter months in the sim. The only thing that could make them better would be if you could wear them over existing shoes instead of having to change to plain black all the time, though I realize this is most likely not possible given the current tech.
