Used as early as the 2270’s, The Shortbow class was originally designed to be the smaller cousin of the Archer class scoutship, and shared a similar purpose in the fleet. With a crew of only two, it was smaller than the Archer, making it harder to spot on sensors, and could more easily hide in nebulae or asteroid belts. Starfleet utilized it mainly as an advance scout in high-risk situations.
Since its retirement from active service in the early 24th century, several Shortbows have been retrofitted for use by civilians. The engines were upgraded to modern linear core designs, but all Starfleet armaments and defenses were removed, and the computer systems were replaced with civilian models.
These days, the Shortbow class is used around the galaxy in many different capacities including cargo runners/couriers, bounty hunters, medevac ships, luxury yachts, or even as privately-owned scout ships.

This is a great ship at a great value!
This fits into a sim easily, does not take up too many prims when rezzed, is inexpensive (compared with other vessels its size), has enough space for RP with several people without it being a huge ship of the line. Is it as beautiful as some? No, but it keeps that aesthetic of the original Star Trek while adding more 'modern' elements. The only things I would change would be to add a command to fire phasers (even just the sound) and I need to contact the maker about how to retract the landing gear. Other than that, I am very pleased!

Just what I wanted, a space apartment with a retro feel. Just needed a few sounds and tweaks to make it perfect. Highly recommended!
A multipurpose ship
Though the commands to operate are a little different from other designs it's just something to adjust to. So far modding the ship had been decent and one has to do it with care. This ship has a lot of features to it and the builder put some serious heart into it. It has no warp core other than the conduits but the cargo bay can be modded for one. Sound effects are great and the colors are vibrant and well textured. I like that it can be flown and it's not to big or small for it's purpose though I wish it could bank and little bit in turns. The only thing that I am not found of respectfully is the sudden landing command, you go from airborne to instantaneous on the ground I am use to other builds allowing approach and decent landing. But you can get close to the ground and the use the landing command. There where some problems with a few minor details but the builder was very good and getting back to me. If you want a ship to interact with this one fits the bill. I have not tried open world flying yet so that's the next phase as time allows. So all in all it gets a five star rating and look forward to using this ship.
