An elegant light phaeton, crafted from finely carved and gilded wood, with steel suspension and various upholstery materials. This type of light carriage became popular in England from around 1780 among the upper classes as a promenade vehicle, allowing its owners to show themselves off thanks to its open body. With the introduction of a lightweight steel frame and a minimal body, this carriage could reach high speeds, making it very popular among young aristocrats and quickly turning it into another must-have for the fleets of elegant households, alongside berline de gala, city coupés, travel coaches, and others.
The carriage has been designed with maximum attention to historical detail, from its elegant proportions to its suspension system with large “à la Daumont” springs and high-perch shafts.
The vehicle, aside from being ornamental, is fully drivable, including an animated horse with harnesses that pull the coach when driven, reproducing wheel sounds and motion.
