Portcullis Features:
-------------------------------------------------------------
This item is moddable! BUT: it will change its name back to "Portcullis" if you try to change it.
The script inside is NOT moddable. Sorry! It contains GM/GLM/ML weapon damage scripting, and most RP sims won't sign off on the use of a weapon if its script is moddable.

Besides resizing, there are 2 reasons to edit your portcullis: (1) Access rights and (2) to change the "strength" to suit your RP campaign or for testing/demos. Note: if your portcullis is destroyed, you can rez a new one to replace it. If you purchased a Wild Style Prefabs Castle, click the top of the entry arch. The replacement will NOT have your previous setting changes. You'll have to re-edit them in. "War is hell."

ACCESS RIGHTS. To allow other people to control the portcullis besides the owner:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Drop a notecard into the portcullis with a list of avatar keys, one on each line, to allow those avatars to click open/closed the portcullis. Dropping in a notecard clears the previous list and replaces it with your new list, so it's a good way to remove access also. The portcullis will chat "access granted" (and move up/down) if someone on the list (or the owner) clicks on the portcullis. Others will get chat "you are not authorized."

SET STRENGTH:
--------------------------------------------------------------
The portcullis will rez with maximum strength (10000). Use the [Object Description] field in the edit pane to set the STRENGTH (aka "Hit points") of the portcullis. The strength must be between 1 and 10000 or it will be ignored. Click the portcullis to have the new strength take effect.

What is "STRENGTH" or "Hit Points"? It's a measure of how much damage it can take.
How much damage is done by a hit? Read on...

Avatars can collide with the portcullis, and will do damage based on their velocity alone, unless they're walking, in which case damage is 1 hit point (consider it normal wear and tear, messing with nails, whittling "Arthur Loves Guinevere" with a heart or something). Walking into the portcullis will not harm an avatar. However, the Portcullis will deal "sword" damage back to the avatar (GM / GLM / ML meter) if the avatar is moving faster than walking speed! (Like running/flying)

So, you can run headlong into the gate like a battering ram! In testing, a STRENGTH of 120 was enough to resist an avatar with GM meter (the avatar died in the test - very sad), but 100 is probably not enough to hold up. Also, avatars regenerate. Your portcullis will need to be raised to repair it. So, word to the wise: set the strength to at least 1000. That should make it useful in a concentrated attack, but not invulnerable.

Objects colliding with the portcullis will do damage based on their (mass) times (velocity squared). So, battering rams and catapults and arrows will do more damage than attacking by running into the portcullis!

Tested the L$1 "catapulta" on Marketplace (https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/catapulta/1568980), and it does approximately 400 points of damage per hit.

Tested Wild Style Fashions Longbow (GM / GLM / DCS2 certified on several sims), and it did 7 points of damage per hit.

Damage percent is shown as hovertext over the portcullis. At intervals of 20% damage, the portcullis will SEND AN IM to the Owner of the portcullis, alerting the owner:

Portcullis: "We're under attack! Now at 20% damage!" etc.

When the portcullis is 100% damaged, it becomes a PHYSICAL prim (subject to physics behavior, like being pushable and falling over), and will wobble in place until it falls over. It also announces that it was destroyed in chat and in IM to Owner. It will auto-delete itself after 5 minutes. If you're impatient to get rid of it, delete it. This might come in handy if you have a Wild Style Prefabs Castle, as the castle will not allow you to rez another portcullis until the old one deletes (or moves 20m away).

Raising the portcullis (before it's destroyed) repairs damage. Chat announces "Repairs are underway!". Every 10 seconds, the portcullis will fix 20% of remaining damage. If there are less than 10 points of damage, the repairs complete in the next 10 seconds. Lowering the portcullis halts repairs. It will chat "Repairs halted!"

Sounds:
The portcullis will make creaking sounds when it's hit, and rattling sounds when it raises, lowers, or is getting repaired. It will make a crashing sound when it is destroyed.

Just 2 prims and amazing scripts.

For the prices and the low amount of prims I had expected the shape to either be small or horribly textured. Upon rezzing both of those misconceptions were shattered and it surpassed even my own version made of considerably more prims. The scripts are amazing and we have had lots of fun placing this in the way of an objective and having one team of people sieging attempting to break through and another defending. There needs to be more destructible landscape objects out there. This is definitely one of the good ones. :D
