Red Sails Shipyard is pleased to present the first ship in the RSS AoS Series, the Lorcha. Blending mesh and conventional construction into a modestly detailed yet low impact sailing ship, the Lorcha brings exciting performance in an easy to sail package. Featuring mesh physics for low land impact in a one piece ship, the Lorcha is truly a "board and sail" vessel that does not require wearable boat parts to operate. Utilizing the latest in efficient scripting techniques, the five scripts in the Lorcha is the lowest number count and among the fastest scripts of any SPD enabled ship on the market for easy region transitions. Veteran SPD battlers will appreciate the Lorcha's sprightly sailing characteristics and HUD features geared towards the competitor wanting a high performing ship. All in all, the RSS Lorcha is an amazing sailing ship for SPD battles.

I sincerely hope you will consider the Lorcha for your first, or even latest, Age of Sail SPD combat ship. See you on the seas!

History of the Lorcha
The lorcha is a type of sailing vessel having a Chinese junk rig on a Portuguese or European style hull. Because of its hull structure, the vessel is faster and can carry more cargo than the normal Chinese junk. The advantage of a junk rig was in its ease of handling and resulting ability to be sailed with a minimal crew, together with its relatively low cost of construction. Owing to its simplicity, it was also easier to repair.
The vessel was developed around 1550 in Macau, then a Portuguese colony in China. This hybrid type of vessel sailed faster than traditional pirate ships and it began to be used by British traders after the First Opium War.

Easy to sail and maneuver in battle. Nice to have the HUD separate from the ship. Mesh build looks realistic.
