UPDATE 4.1 script: A customer made me aware of this flaw: a deeded radio cannot be set to group restrictions. Therefore I introduced a 'group admin' feature with this update. If you need to deed your radio, simply replace the included script by the 4.1 and also add the 'admin' notecard.
UPDATE 4.2 script: For the benefit of copy/mod radios (which cannot be deeded or given away) I created a modification, together with a 'radio relay'. The latter is full perms, simply rez and deed it, or ask your landlord to rez it for you. This configuration will work in most situations where you are not the land owner.
These changes (4.1 and 4.2) are not necessary for conventional ownership and land - the 4.0 is still fine there.
Update 4.2.2: The 'custom URL' now also accepts URLs starting with https://..
Update 5.0: in response to many requests I added the possibility of having more than one station notecard, reflecting various niches (Rock, Pop, Country, etc) by name. The _admin notecard is now mandatory.
Update 5.1.1 beta: in response to a request I added a feature where the station lists pops up automatically after a genre change.
5.1.2 a slight upgrade which also shows the current selected genre (aka stations notecard name) in the menu

you must not sell the (working) example, and not the scripts. If used, the script permissions shall always be free.

*NOTE* Since Web radio URLs change so often or even vanish without further notice I can't keep the stations updated. If it is 'dead' you must do it yourself. One good source is Shoutcast, for example (you need the mp3 version of the stream, SL viewers can't handle different formats). Or you simply copy the parcel music information (stream URL) from a sim which intrigues you.

Outstanding value in an ethically challenged market
I got an impression (ie- when experience and opinion coincide) that in the radio receiver market, value is inversely correlated with price.
Get this one - it probably does everything you need. Includes a good working example - and OFF as an option. The seller is careful to mention the ephemeral nature of internet radio stations - most that use Shoutcast or Icecast have a very short shelf life.
BTW, the recommendation of fmstream.org by a previous reviewer was an unexpected bonus - exactly what I need to update my list of stations managed within African countries (even if the server is elsewhere).

After some minor effort, this is super cool and can be modified to your needs. And the price makes this a no-brainer. What a deal. Also, it's always great to get something that increases your ability to script and create your very own items.

Awesome and simple to use. I script myself, but why bother when this works. I have several plots, by using the realy, i can change all plot music with just one radio. Came with working channels. I even got a free upgrade when an update was made.
