These blinds retract up and down. The blinds also switch between Starry Night blinds that are closed and blinds that are closed but horizontal for a semi-opaque appearance. In both instances, the blinds appear to move as they retract and extend.

In particular, the item provides a window treatment for individual windows with only a single prim for the window. Specifically, the item includes a script to switch between closed blinds displaying the famous Starry Night painting and closed blinds that are horizontal for some visibility. Click on the window after applying the prim and you are presented with a menu for six choices (see last image):

(1) Open/Close;
(2) Opaque;
(3) Semi-Opaq
(4) Tinted Glass;
(5) Opacity;
(6) Clear;
(7) Reset

Open/Close means retract the blinds up or pull them down if already retracted. Opaque means the Starry Night image will be shown. Semi-Opaq means that blinds will be shown covering the window, but turned horizontally so that there is some visibility. Tinted glass means a dark glass will be shown on the inside and glass block on the outside. Clear means a transparent texture is shown so that the window appears open.

Opacity changes the transparency of the blinds and tinted glass through four different levels. Each time Opacity is clicked, the transparency is increased until maximum is reached and it starts again from the beginning (minimum transparency). Clicking Reset will immediately set the transparency back to minimum.

For privacy, opacity only changes the interior and not the exterior. Hence, if you choose tinted glass, glass block will continue to show on the exterior and will not become transparent in response to clicking opacity.

The blinds may set such that only the owner may operate it or anyone may operate it. By default it is set for anyone to operate it. To set it so that only the owner may operate it, edit the switcher click the content tab and edit the notecard entitled "Application.Config". In the notecard you will see the line "anyone = yes". Change yes to no and save the notecard and the switcher thereafter will only allow the owner to operate it. It may be switched back at anytime by changing yes to no in the foregoing line of the notecard.

The color of the blinds for the semi-opaqe setting may also be configued using the notecard as well. White or black seems to work best, or light blue. See the examples in the comments in the notedcard in the switcher to select the color of your choice. White seems to rezz in the fastest and have the least amount of lag.

Regarding permissions, the prim may be modified and copied, but the script is copy only and cannot be modified. So ignore any indication in your inventory that the blinds are no-modify and resize and rotate as you wish when applying to your windows.

Works very well, but...

Blinds works very well, and is a good stuff. My wish is to put my own texture in tone with the bedroom, but the curtain does not allow to change the texture when it is closed or semi-transparent. I wrote to the developer and I hope he can help me with this. Thanks
