This item is now reduced by 1/3 of the original price after having been out for a year. It was previously $600
Important stuffs:
1.) Please test the demo (called: %Test for %Record Player) at the right side of this page, or the one in my store in Virtual Soho BEFORE purchase. Rez it on the land you're planning on having the record player on, and check the song quality. If it does not play well after the second attempt, do not buy this record player! Because of the cache, all songs in SL usually take a second run-through before they can be heard clearly.
2.) There are two, unlinked, loose records with this purchase. One will rez on top of the record player, and the other is a backup which will appear in the folder. You MUST have permission from the land/group owner to change the stations. If you DO have permission, you would deed the single record to the group. There is a notecard with more detailed instructions with purchase.
You can move the record, hide it, stick it in a wall... doesn't matter, so long as it's within a few meters of the main record player. And if it gets lost, just rez the extra inside the item's folder in your inventory. If you do not need to deed anything to the group, simply delete that one record from the top of the record player and your prim count will go down to 10.
3.) The version currently for sale is version #2. This is because streaming radio stations sometimes go out and need to be replaced. If you have purchased this product in the past, and have not received an updated version, send me an IM. I'll check my sale records and send you a new one. Everyone should be updated, but glitches do happen. This only applies to the full version, not the (very) limited version once given out as a hunt item.
Now onto the details:
There are 12 songs by a variety of musicians/singers in this record player.* They cover pop, rock, indie/alternative, punk rock, hip hop, singer/songwriter, folk, blues, dance, chill, and funk.
There are 22 radio stations covering Pop, Top 40, Alternative, Hair Band, Industrial, Electronica, Hip Hop, Groove, Jazz, Blues, Big Band, Diesel Punk, Classical, Salsa, 60's Italian, Caribbean Oldies, Anime JPop, Japanese, South India and others.
The lid opens on click, and the shadow changes to match the lid's position. Touch any of the knobs for the song/radio menu buttons. There is also a button in the menu for the volume (1-10), and one that gives a notecard of info on how to use the record player and details about each artist and song included in it. When choosing a song, the arm moves over and the record begins to spin. At the end of the song, the record will stop and the arm will move back into it's original position.
There is a texture change menu that will allow you a variety of texture/color changes for all parts of the player except the front and the knobs. The texture change menu is owner only. Click and hold on the main portion of the player for 3+ seconds, and the menu will come up when released.
There are 27 total avatar animations in this record player, for up to 4 avatars. There are four different single-av dances, three couple's dances, a singing animation (the record player gives a microphone to wear,) and a variety of sits and leans. This is not a chimera or dance ball. You will not be able to move your avatar around when dancing, just as you cannot with sits, but they are spaced out so no one gets in anyone else's space.
There is a record player set out in my store in Virtual Soho, and it would be good for you to see and test it before purchasing, (as with everything you buy off the MP.) Please take note; due to parcel settings and respect for other store owners and tenants in Soho, the variety of radio station buttons are still in the record player on display, but all the station addresses are set to be the same as Soho's regular land station, (this is the case ONLY in the display version. The version for purchase contains the fully operating list.) I have had the list checked on different viewers, and by people in a couple of different countries, and every station on the list works wonderfully.
*I've been given written permission from each and every one of the musicians who's songs are in this record player, but should there be any confusion, please feel free to contact me. The song genres are listed as described by the musicians.
