This script is designed to help you create a climbable ladder or rope. When an avatar sits on your rope or ladder they will gradually climb until they are at the top and then automatically unsit. This script will not allow you to climb back down.
Also included is a full permission climbing animation aswell as a full permission ladder sculpt map.

Wow!
It just works! Drop the script in a cube, make the cube any height you want, sit on it, you'll start climbing at the bottom and land on top. Line the cube up with your favorite ladder or vines, turn it invisible, done!
Works great but....
This script does as stated and works perfectly. however, I am unable to use it in my project even though it's exactly what I need because #1 it's way too fast and #2 the climbing goes straight to the root prim and climbs instead of in the ladder I put it in.
I'm working on a treehouse which has ladders on it already and I tried everything I can think of to make this script work but it won't. It just climbs the trunk of the tree instead of the ladder.

This worked fantastically as an entry option for tree houses on my homestead. First, I made a basic transparent root prim fot the height I needed, and then found a good rope ladder mesh and combined them linked them all together. All I had to do was drop the script and animation in.
a quick climber
yes indeed - it works fine. Maybe the velocity of climbing could be a little bit less...the basic function is clear... sit (on bottom) - climb from botten to top in z-axis, unsit. In that wasy you can climb through a physical object, too (needs no hole to climb through).
JUNK
Your AV goes HALFWAY up the ladder SIDEWAYS then it DROPS you back down. It won't even climb all the way up the ladder. WTF
You canNOT mod the script to fix it as it is NO mod........therefore NO way you can use it in your own creations and then sell them.
