Fantastic...
I became a fan of this shop and their helicopters. They are the best. I become repetitive, but that's it, they are the best, in each detail.
Another great one
I've been flying the majority of my real life. I do not have a helicopter rating, only Private, ASEL. I'm not a test pilot, just a weekend warrior when I can afford it. So I don't have any fancy boastings. I will say that Kelly captures the need to read and understand your aircraft before attempting to fly it. Following procedures and a checklist is important in real life and Kelly makes it important here with her helicopters.
They are not difficult to fly or overly complicated if you take your time. Also, there are plenty of people who are willing to help anyone learn them.
Another excellent creation from Shergood.
Excessively complicated, not fun to fly, waste of money
Over complicated, poor documentation, no notecard in the bundle or object, just a notecard to a website that is clunky and not easy to navigate for finding chat commands, specially if its been months since you flown last.
Devs don't seem to like feedback that goes against their ways.
This Shergood product seems so far to be more unstable on sim crossings than previous Shergood helicopters. This heli feels heavy on the sim crossings and is more likely to crash than anything else I've operated from Shergood. Feels like a 400LI sailboat on sim crossings, oofta!
I get that they want to be "real" and it’s made for experts, except they miss the mark in my opinion. It isn’t fun to fly.
I have fun flying overly complicated helicopters and things in general. I don’t come to SL looking for something that is more complicated than the real world helicopter to fly. Flying these Shergood helicopters is like playing a turn based game like Civilization. You wait for the helicopter to react and then pluck at keys and deal with SL isms or to be crashed out on a sim crossing after putting in all the time and effort. I can appreciate the forward thinking that needs to go into flying a real helicopter. Shergood has put a lot of effort into something that isn’t simulated well in SL in the first place. It just isn’t that much fun to fly.
A suggestion: keep the hard flying mode, maybe include a fun flying mode, less heavy on the scripts, so you can throw it around and have some fun and relax a bit. I feel so stiff flying this copter. My only other options are to put a Tig Spijkers script in the model so I can have some fun and enjoy the detail of the copter.
I was a real life test pilot for a large aerospace company and have flown some complicated things in my life that will make you poop your pants if you don’t stay on top of it. I like operating things, but sadly I don’t have that much fun flying Shergood helicopters or else I’d be flying them more.
God is in the details
Hey it's a Shergood. What more needs to be said?
Get it, Fly it, Enjoy it! This is an amazing helicopter for Beginners to the most advanced Flight Sim Fanatics ! built by the best Helicopter scripter currently creating in Secondlife
Seriously this build is amazing, I have been after a good Westland Wessex model for RAF and this fits the bill perfectly...
PROS:
1) First & most importantly, the Flight Core Script is second to none as far as helicopters go, there are many features to add that flight simulator feel to this, which cater for the most demanding pilot, don't be put off by this because all of the features can be switched on or off independently making it flyable even for the beginner pilots out there
2) Roleplay S&R can be frustrating not being able to winch someone in a no-rezz zone, that becomes a thing of the past with this build. The winch system is innovative to say the least, not only being able to use anywhere it also has the look of a realistic cable & basket/harness system which swings & rotates with the helicopter keeping it in a realistic position.
3) Using the onboard controls, locate your target if they are using the Shergood Transponder HUD.
4) Land impact is very reasonable & makes this a vehicle you can leave rezzed out on display for others to admire.
5) Fully Modifiable meaning you can texture away to your hearts desire & even add/link different STUFF to it
6) Crewing, this is taken into consideration very well, it can be flown & operated by a single pilot, however for extra realism this heli' comes into its own when operated by a properly role played crew, with pilot, co-pilot, comm's operator & winchman all with plenty to keep them busy
7) Being able to guest or name another pilot gives this helicopter the ability to be used as a Search & Rescue base vehicle operated by named crew members who then take responsibility for its usage & bringing it back safely for another day. If you are a Roleplayer you will understand that this is a great feature for that added realism
8) Despite all the features Sim crossings are as smooth as the best Sim crossing vehicles out there, even for changeover time on crossings around the Blake.
Get it, Fly it, Enjoy it
