A set of 8 buoys with the correct color markings, indication triangles, and flashing light sequences.
They're all copy/mod, have lots of detail, and come with an optional sea bed anchor point (see pic)
I'm afraid it's gonna take a lil DIY to use the anchor, as no-one's sea bed is exactly the same depth. The bottom part comes with a 10m cable attached, and there's also a 5m extension included so you can adjust as necessary. If you need any help with this, just notecard me and I'll be happy to help out. they're 14 prims each, which reflects all the detail - even down to nuts n bolts!

Ok ~ and now for the tekkie bit:

A set of 8 Cardinal Buoys, with appropriate lights & marks prescribed by the IALA, comprising the following:
North Q, VQ
East Q3, VQ3
South Q6, VQ6
West Q9, VQ9

As in RL, they’re all pillar buoys and are always colored black and yellow. They’re easily identified by the conical-shaped top marks which are placed in accordance with the color scheme of the buoy, and always point towards the black part of the buoy (e.g. north cardinal is black at the top and a west cardinal is black in the middle)
They’re positioned to indicate the safe side of a danger with an approximate bearing, e.g. the West cardinal buoy has safe water on its West and the danger on its East side. When a new obstacle (not yet shown on charts) needs to be marked, two cardinal buoys - for instance a South buoy and an East buoy - will be used to indicate this “uncharted” danger.

Ok ~ here’s where it gets REALLY technical ~ the light flashing sequence (there are two possible sequences so that if there are two similar buoys in an area, they will show different light patterns: Q=Quick and VQ=Very Quick):

NORTH Q quick, continuous flashing (at least 60 times per minute)
NORTH VQ very quick, continuous flashing (at least 100 times per minute)
EAST Q3 a three-flash sequence, repeated every ten seconds
EAST VQ3 a three-flash sequence, repeated every five seconds
SOUTH Q6 a six-flash sequence followed by a long flash, repeated every fifteen seconds. (the long flash is added because you might not see the entire sequence in a large swell, and helps differentiate between a south and a west buoy)
SOUTH VQ6 a six-flash sequence followed by a long flash, repeated every ten seconds. (the long flash is added because you might not see the entire sequence in a large swell, and helps differentiate between a south and a west buoy)
WEST Q9 a nine-flash sequence, repeated every fifteen seconds
WEST VQ9 a nine-flash sequence, repeated every ten seconds

Ok ~ that’s the tekkie bit over & done with ~ I’m gonna drop a notecard with the same details inside the box so you can refer to it if needs be. Thanks for looking - if you want to check out my other buoys and stuff, click on the "visit the store" link on the right.

I dont know anything about navigation, and I am sure I dont have them set up properly for that. But I needed an attractive way to mark the boarder of the water part of a large parcel.. I got these buoys and they look absolutely stunning and do the trick perfectly. Very classy and well made.. seem quite realistic to me. These are easily worth 10 times their current price...

Proper IALA Buoys

A high-quality set of proper IALA buoys. In use on my island to direct boat channels to the north side into the Blake Sea and steer sailors away from going dead end into Linden non-navigable water. The sea anchors combined with the buoys are an attractive addition to my island.
