SSS Hercules (pirate battle ship) Version 2.0
The SSS Hercules recreates (within the SPD Naval Battle parameters) a type of naval warship constructed from the 17th through to the mid-19th century known as Ship of the Line, because it's purpose was to take part in the naval tactic known as "the line of battle" (two columns of opposing warships would maneuverer to bring the greatest weight of broadside guns to bear). That tactic required the heaviest ships carrying the most powerful guns, so ships of the line were the largest and most powerful vessels of their time.
- The SSS Hercules is specifically designed for Pirate and Naval War games, so it's SPD compatible.
- Copiable and physically modifiable.
- Sails set is automatically worn when boarding the ship (just one set is used for both static and active modes).
- It is driven by the wind (it is based on the Flying Tako scripts by Kanker Greeacre).
- Turn speed depends on the ship speed, so kedge anchors were included.
- 50 hitpoints of structure strength.
- 2 camera settings for the captain.
- 2 camera settings for the crew (up to 4 gunners).
- Two usable decks.
- Iron angle is 40 degrees, and 60 degrees with square sails raised.
- Multiple effects include sounds, smoke, animated parts, explosion and floating remains the shipwrecked crew can use to swim.
- It shows progressive damage.
- Includes ZuCS Combat System statistics.
- Lock/Unlock function.
- Speak when hit ON/OFF function.
- Autodeletes 1 minute after sinking.
- 30 aimable cannons, operable via HUD only; 12 of them (upper deck) can be served by the captain and/or two gunners, and the rest can be served only by two gunners on the lower deck. Upper deck guns also include explosive shots (SPD damage to avatars) and full broadside salvo.
The box includes:
- SSS Hercules.
- Repair Depot.
- Captain HUD (Gunner HUD is provided by the ship)
- Sailing gestures.
- Instructions.
- Extra documentation about sailing in SL.
very poor
If I could give a lower review I would, this ship just makes for a big, overly expensive, immobile target.
Very narrow wind margin, slow to turn and cumbersome...Also had to pretty much rebuild the cosmetics as most of the textures did not line up and the prims that make up the ship are on the most part misaligned.
