The portcullis version 2 is part of the Scobas animatronics range of products. The animatronics range co-ordinates movements of different components to give a truly realistic animated experience. The portcullis is designed to keep those marauding hordes out of your castle. The portcullis is controlled by the lever, and you may set up the access to the lever as Public, group or to named avatars.
When you operate the lever, the portcullis rises, the spindles rotate and the texture on the rope animates to give the appearance of movement. When the portcullis is completely open, the other components stop. When the portcullis is closed, the same actions occur, except in the opposite direction.
It is the perfect compliment to Scobas Drawbridge.

Fatal flaw is access. Otherwise, great piece of work.
Sadly, this gate has access problems, or I would rate it excellent. It is a beautiful piece of work, and it operates perfectly. However, generally, only the owner can operate it. That is a fatal flaw for a public sim like ours. There are supposed to be Public and Group modes, but they don't work. There is also supposed to be an option to add individual names to a user list. For us, that is too cumbersome, but we tried it anyway. It does not work. It allows some avi's to operate the gate, but not others. Perhaps the problem is operator error, but the creator has not responded to our requests for help. I hope he does eventually respond, because this gate would really be great if we could get it working.
