Second Hand Droids starfighters were built from scratch using a combination of prims, sculpts, and hand painted textures. They have been meticulously scripted and designed with high performance, competitiveness, and fun in mind.

FEATURES
-=-=-=-=-=-
-FLIGHT-
The physical flight system combines mouselook combat controls with multiple flight modes, and a non-mouselook repulserlift flight mode.
-COMBAT-
Second Hand Droids use the VCS 1.8 combat system.
Dual Blasters: This ship features a pair of standard blaster cannons with fire-linking system to allow alternating fire or simultaneous fire of both cannons.
Missiles: One concussion missile launcher with a payload of 4 agile, heavy hitting, guided concussion missiles.
Countermeasures: Automatic countermeasure system launches flares when a missile lock is detected. Flares have a chance of spoofing the guidance system of concussion missiles and proton torpedoes. Additional flares can be launched manually. NOTE: Countermeasures only work with other Second Hand Droids vehicles.
-HYPERDRIVE-
Jump to hyperspace with a beautiful hyperspace simulation, allowing you to travel to a specific or random location within the current sim.
-UNIVERSAL HUD-
Second Hand Droids starfighters include a HUD attachment which automatically tunes itself to your current ship. You will have access to all of your ship's commands through the HUD as well as a dynamic status display of your shields, hull, and weapon configuration. NOTE: Starfighter HUD works only with Second Hand Droids starfighters.
-GESTURE CONTROLS-
Included is a set one-touch gestures to access the most important combat commands at the touch of a button. Gestures are modify so you can set them to use whichever keys you are comfortable with.
-COLOR VARIATIONS-
All starfighters come with a set of 13 color patterns to allow customization and setup of squadrons with matching colors, even if your squadron uses different types of ships.
- Advanced, responsive, mouselook physical flight system
- Guided concussion missiles and countermeasure system
- Dual Fire-linked blaster cannons and Proton Bombs
- Hyperdrive with hyperspace simulation
- Universal Starfighter HUD with combat stats and controls
Very well-crafted vehicle!
When I first saw the TIE/sa Bomber, I was interested, albeit a little hesitant, due to the fact that this vehicle used sculpts rather than mesh ( Though I can understand why mesh can sometimes be harder to work with than scupts and prims ), so I had previously asked the seller to demonstrate the vehicle, which, unfortunately, was a little hard to do because of time. So, rather than bother her too much, I decided to take the leap and buy the TIE for a sim I was helping out with. And, WOW, I am VERY impressed.
Firstly, the build itself - it's very faithful to the TIE Bombers found throughout the Star Wars saga - textures are detailed, albeit a little blurry, though this is due to SL itself, not the builder, even the cockpit of the craft is well-designed, and seems very reminiscent of the Rogue Squadron franchise, which was very welcome!
Operationally, it's very smooth and as responsive as ships come. It's a bit awkward to control the first time around, but the more you use it, the easier it becomes to get to terms with the craft's three different flight modes, well-suited for all-comers! The weapons themselves don't have any issue, and are very reliable in combat! The effects from each weapon are very stunning, especially since I had previously expected stock particles seen in a lot of old weaponry. Add to the fact that missiles can lock onto targets, and the blasters can be linked through the HUD display, and you have a well-seasoned ship that can hold it's own in combat!
However, I do have one flaw with the TIE - the bombs. While they are very pretty to watch as they fall to the ground and unleash devastation, the command to drop the bombs isn't noted in the notecard, nor is there a gesture. Although it can be easy to figure out how it can be done, it is a minor inconvenience to bombers, but can easily be worked around!
Overall, very well-constructed! Do not pass something like this up! I will certainly buy from this seller again! :)
