Starbase Landing Pad Terminal
[31 prims]

- Airlock doors
- Animated radar
- Flight Control Desk
- boarding signs, star maps
- Working digital clock (shows SL time)
- Furniture pack (seats, tables)
This Starbase landing pad module is a space terminal bristling with features. It can allow for spaceships to land and take off and the passengers or crew can watch in comfort from behind the safety of large plexi-glass viewing walls.
The platform has zone markings and has pulsing landing lights to guide your space traffic into land correctly. There's also a rotating radar assembly mounted on the roof to track your inbound and outbound traffic. (Turn it on/off with a touch). There is a double door airlock that allows passage from the landing pad and the check-in area. Touch either one of the airlock doors and it will automatically close the other airlock door before it opens. Then you can pass safely through the airlock and enter the terminal itself.
Inside, there's the Flight Control Desk, with computer displays and a plasma keyboard. The seat has an animated pose of a busy tech person working the keyboard and buttons. Above the Flight Desk is the large destination boards showing arrivals and departures, along with star maps and navigation routes, which pulse slowly as they light up. Behind the Desk, there's a working digital clock showing the correct time in Second Life. The clock will automatically sync with the Linden clock.
The Terminal has a rear exit which can be linked to any of the other Exosphere modules
EXTRA:
This module come with two Magno-Bolt anchor plates and a free MagnoBolt Furniture Pack (two posed chairs, a table and a data pad [total 5 prims]). This means you can optionally add extra items simply by touching the magnetic plates to link them to the anchor plates of the structure! Instructions are included!
Note:
This module comes with free bulkhead endcaps so you can make this into a separate stand-alone module, or you can join it to others to form a larger starbase. All the Exosphere starbase modules can easily be joined together by simply touching their bulkhead door frames. They'll move themselves into place and align themselves automatically.
*Updated* The airlock doors are synchronized so as one door is opened, the other door automatically closes.

- Detailed Textures, low prim

I linked it to the hangar and it makes the perfect fit ....
It adds a friendly area to meet people before they go and visit my Sci-Fi modules.
Another great product!
I have several Exosphere modules and this one is perfect like the others. The landing area makes a good entry point for my sim and doubles as a nice platform for making small builds. Thanks!
Highly versatile landing bay for shuttles!
Another great product from Exophere. I have the enclosed dome landing pad next to my lock-up area, but I use these in the civilian area where freighter pilots can land any size shuttle. It has an air lock with the circular doors that fit seals on most model flyable shuttles , but the doors are low enough to walk through fro freight shuttles (no seal doors). Looks great inside and out. The interior is versatile. Half is a computer / conditions bank, the other half is usable for whatever you want to put inside.
The only bitch I have about Exosphere is that they only tell you the prim count of the structures themselves…they don't advertise that the equipment to go in it usually nearly doubles the prim /land impact count. If you haven't discovered this yet, you can edit all the structures to remove unnecessary doors and the mangnabolts, which usually brings down the overall prim count by 4-8 prim / LI's per module.
All the modules in this series are very good to great, with flashing lights and screens…all the better for those of us that grew up in the era of great "B" science fiction movies!
:)
Very good job! Looks very real and beautiful in and outside! I have there my space mobile :)
Versatile Module With Lots of Uses
While this is listed as a 'terminal' it's going to serve me very well as a fly in space bar. It's easy to strip the unneeded parts out of the inside and the included table/chair combos will work well for what I have in mind. The issue with the airlock the other review mentioned seems to have been fixed as only one door will open at a time. This could easily be modded into any number of purposes for use in space or even on the surface. While it's around 2X the price of the basic module, I'd really suggest getting this one instead as a far more versatile and usable structure.
It has the 'Magbolt' system for easy positioning of interior parts. While you might not need them for the included chair and table modules, they will also work just fine with the magbolt interior parts from other modules. If you don't need them, the connectors are easily removed with the object editor. You can also do this once the items are positioned if you don't plan to change anything. It does open the possibility for additional stand alone magbolt interior parts to be offered int he future should the maker wish to do so.
Great set overall - really nice terminal. But airlock could be improved
I really like the sets from Exosphere, bought a whole series of them. This one is a very nice terminal room that makes for a handy starting spot in my build. My only complaint is that the airlock doors do not auto-close and can both be opened at the same time. I'd much prefer if opening one closed the other - for a more 'air tight' concept.
