Starbase Transit System
Tram [12 prims], Tram Station [15 prims].

Travel from one tram station on your Starbase to another inside a silky smooth, high tech tram.

- Very simple setup!
- "Call Tram" buttons
- Menu-driven Tram Station selection
- Move your stations around - they will still work! no need for way-points.
- Tram and Station maintenance (Usage: Group, Private, Owner, Public)
- You can take Stations "off-line" for maintenance
- Multiple tram routes possible
- You can even place Tram Stations on your sim surface.
- Stations have side seats, windows, sliding doors, etc.

What you get:
You get a tram and a tram station. You can mod and copy the station or tram as many times as you like. The station is a standard Exosphere module, so you can attach it to any of your Starbase units, if you want. You can install any number of tram stations and rename each one to identify its location. Then rez your tram and touch a "Call Tram" button on any station - your tram will come over and park at the station! Your Starbase transit system is now up and running. Go take a ride!

Catching a tram.
Press the Call Tram button at any station and the tram will come. The sign will glow and you'll get an announcement that the tram is on its way. As it arrives, it slows up, aligns itself to the station doors and docks itself. The station doors and the tram doors will automatically slide open. The tram can take up to three passengers. Enter the tram, sit on one of the three pads that show footprints, and you'll be shown a menu displaying the names of the stations.

Travelling.
When you select your destination, the station doors and tram doors will close and the tram will slide gracefully to the destination station. You will be treated to all-round views of your starbase as it moves between the stations. On arrival, the doors will automatically open and you (and your passengers) will be unseated so you can walk out through the station. If you have an onward journey, simply re-seat yourself and select a new destination from the menu that will be displayed when you sit.

Travel possible between sim surface and starbase
I tested the Tram's ability to shuttle passengers between the starbase and the sim surface, 5,000 meters below it. Not only did the tram perform perfectly, but it even increased its acceleration over the long distances and then slowed down as it approaches its destination.

Tram Station placement.
The tram will take the shortest distance it can to travel to the destination. There's no need to lay out any way-points, which means that if you relocate your stations or redesign your base, everything will still continue to work correctly! As you are the starbase engineer and designer in charge, you'll need to ensure that the tram has a clear path between stations. Obstacles won't stop your tram from arriving at its destination because it will pass through any obstructions. Try to avoid this as it may scare the passengers!

Notes:
To use the Tram, you'll need to stand on the floor pads in the tram with the footprints on them. This will trigger the "Tram Stop Menu" so you can select your destination. But you'll have to right-click and select 'sit' to activate them and to get the tram to realise you want to take a ride. Don't worry, the standing-up pose will take over once you 'sit'. You'll be 'unseated' when the tram stops and the doors open. If you want to continue your journey to the next tram stop without disembarking, you will need to sit on the pad again. This will also display a menu to from which select your next destination.

Passengers need to be seated or they will get bounced around or may even be left behind when the tram moves off.

After about 30 seconds after arrival, the tram door and the station doors will automatically close. If you are still standing in the tram and the doors close, you can reopen them by using the Open Door button that appears on the tram wall when it is docked. If you enter a station and a tram is already docked there, you can simple touch the Call Tram button, and that will open the doors.

You have lots of controls built into the system. As the owner, you can touch a tram station for a menu. From the menu, you can restrict usage of specific tram stations to public, group or even take it off-line for maintenance. When it's off-line, it won't appear as destinations on the tram menus and users of the station will be warned that it's off-line for maintenance. You can even have multiple tram routes running at the same time.

All the Exosphere starbase modules can easily be joined together by simply touching their bulkhead door frames. They'll move themselves into place and align themselves automatically. This module comes with free bulkhead end caps so you can make this into a separate stand-alone module, or you can join it to others to form a larger base.

I have installed this as a conduit between my ground level businesses and my THREE (count em) THREE space stations @ 4000m in Camorra. It works EXTREMELY well. AAA+++ highly recommended, thanks! :)

I bought this 8 years ago because I'm a fan of this creators station parts, but never really used it.

Today I needed someway to get people from my space station to my city, and I remembered I had this. Well, it works perfectly so I'm giving it 5 stars. Very happy.

I had an older system that needed waypoints which was always unreliable.
This system is pretty realistic and fun as well as dependable.
Try creating a full zombie area with this transit system as the only escape route and you'll know what I mean by fun.
Good job and thank you!!

It made the perfect link in between my Exosphere modules and another old one that I had from another creator with a tube of the ideal size to make it be an entry point to the Exosphere Transit System. OK 10 seconds to plug it on the Exosphere side thanks to there cool connectors ... and 15 mins to adjust on the other side that was not done for it ... but the result is so much cool !!! Thx for that so cool module !!!

So.. I bought this earlier in the evening and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to make things work.. Seems I did not pay attention to that notecard that was included as it was so super simple I could have kicked myself after contacting the creator for help!
The creator of the transit was very nice by the way, and it was no time at all that the transit system was fully functional and working.

The transit certainly beats a plain, old teleport for sure!

I recommend this to anyone that is planning out a space station with ground level planet. Or like as intended from one section of a space station to another. Its full of win!

I'm very happy with these products from this friendly maker who was ready to help me at once with a couple of questions and even wishes I had in mind. Prompt, friendly service indeed! :)

Good looks and textures, nice details, low prim, affordable price and modular design are the key factors that make these products my favourites for my sci-fi needs!

Highly recommended!!! 10 stars out of 5!!! :)))
