Strato-Cube 6-Megapixel 360x180 Panorama Viewer Skybox
This is the Strato-Cube! It is a menu-driven 360 degree panorama viewer and mesh skybox with rezzable viewing objects. The Strato-Cube has been specifically designed for the display and management of collections of 360 degree equirectangular/spherical panoramas. Each panorama is made up of six cube faces that have been seamlessly stitched together to create a complete 6-megapixel 360x180 scene that surrounds you, giving you the feeling of actually being in the environment you are viewing. Privacy screens and simple alpha-topped landscape textures cannot begin to compare.
The Strato-Cube has the following features:
* - Resizable! Just specify the exact size you want directly through the menu system - from 20M to 64M! (default size=32M). Or, choose megaprim sizes up to 1024 meters!
* - Offers three different menu-rezzable viewing objects: Hot Air Balloon w/Anim., Magic Carpet w/Anim., or a 10M Gothic Platform
- These are positioned perfectly for optimum viewing and do not move.
* - One transparent support prim just below the center of the Strato-Cube to place your avatar at the optimum viewing position.
* - Access control! You can set the Strato-Cube to Owner Only, Group, or Public operation!
* - Turn Privacy On/Off. This makes the outside of your Strato-Cube either opaque or transparent.
* - Transparent On/Off. This makes the inside of your Strato-Cube either opaque or transparent.
* - Phantom On/Off. This makes the Strato-Cube and its support prim either phantom or solid.
* - Slide Show mode with adjustable Timer! While in each category you can start a slide show presentation of all the panoramas in that category. Changing categories while in Slide Show mode will change the selection of panoramas being displayed. Selecting a panorama from the menu stops the slide show.
* - Supports hundreds of panoramas! Each of the nine scene categories can contain over 100 6-megapixel panoramas!
* - Categories include: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Mountains, Water, Forests, Space, and Snapshots! Scenes are automatically categorized!
* - Includes a starter pack of Snapshots. These are "vacation" style scenes from popular tourist destinations. Additional themed panoramas are sold separately. NOTE: The ad pics used here are NOT from the starter pack. They are from panoramas that are sold separately.
* - Additional scenes are contained in notecards that you just drag and drop into the Strato-Cube or your Horizons rezzer! Additional scenes are also compatible with Novatech's Horizons Virtual Reality System, the TARDIS T-70, and emDash and come with an installer orb for those devices!
* - The Strato-Cube is NOT required to use the additional scenes! Each scene can be rezzed alone. The Strato-Cube is for managing collections of scenes and to provide a convenient platform for viewing them.
* - The Strato-Cube interfaces seamlessly with the Horizons Virtual Reality System. Just drag the Strato-Cube Horizons Companion script into your Horizons rezzer. Then, you can drag your Strato-Cube Scene cards into your Horizons rezzer, instead of into the Strato-Cube.
The Strato-Cube includes the following:

* - Rezzable sculpted Hot Air Balloon - 6 prims
* - Rezzable mesh Magic Carpet - 10 prims
* - Rezzable sculpted 10M Gothic Platform - 17 prims
* - One Snapshots starter pack includes the following scenes: Apartment, Buck Palace, GG Bridge, From Paris, Glasgow E, Glasgow W, Inverlochy, Kanda Shrine, McMurdo (Mars rover), Pena Palace, Nymphenburg, Plaza Colon, Snowballs, Venet Lobby, and Windmills. These scenes will not be installed when you first rez your Strato-Cube. Their primary purpose is to demonstrate the capabilities of the Strato-Cube and to show how easy it is to add scenes - starting with these! So, just drag the sn_Snapshots notecard into your Strato-Cube or Horizons rezzer to add them.

I read the description inattentively. There are only snapshots in this skybox. The menu and the idea are very good .. But there is a big disadvantage in the fact that snapshots are on a very close plan, but even worse that there are people in the panoramas. If I buy landscapes and other acceptable panoramas, then the price of this skybox will be worth its weight in gold. For me this skybox is not applicable. 3 stars for a good idea
Beautiful - I love it!
I do love it. The scenes are so clear and crisp. It says you can also load your own scenes that you upload to SL. I haven't got that figured out but I'll see if I can get some help from the creator. I saw this originally in their store in SL and I thought it was beautiful there, so I decided to put out the money and give it a try. I'm really glad I did. I now love being in a skydome/dome, and I never thought I would. I really do HIGHLY recommend this Strato-Cube - I'm using 2 of the autumn scenes right now. There are also really nice snow scenes I can't wait to use.

This Panorama viewer is absolutely incredible, wanted to create a large themed place for my wife's birthday & was looking for something just like this, it works amazingly well & easy to use, ty for helping me create this my wife will be delighted :)
