*NEW VERSION* has smoother motion using new Second Life scripting calls! (Upgrade for L$1 at my store or FREE if you catch Kayaker Magic in-world and IM him).

Probably the most realistic swimming behavior you will see in SL! This fish will swim anywhere on your property that there is water, but never repeat the same path! A chaotic algorithm makes it behave in complex ways without being random. By default it will detect the edges of your property and stay inside them. It will not swim into the ground, out of the water or outside of the sim boundaries. You can also change the Shark to one of 3 boundary modes: It will stay inside the parcel it is in, it will stay inside the owner's parcels (if you own more than one and they are adjacent) or it will swim everywhere in the sim that it finds friendly permissions set. It needs "Object Entry" to cross a parcel boundary and "Run Scripts". These land permissions can be set for all residents, or for a group if the owner has that group active at the time the Shark is rezzed. The shark has four avatar modes, it will ignore, avoid, chase, or attack them. In attack mode it will bump avatars and push them around, leaving blood in the water. The Shark is normally a phantom object and swims through obstacles in its path. However, it has an "object avoid" mode where it attempts to detect objects in its path and turn away. When not avoiding an object or turning to stay in bounds, the Shark will travel in a back-and-forth swimming path, but has an option for going in straight lines between boundaries. The combination of a sculpted 3D head, a flexy tail and complex behavior makes this shark look incredibly realistic for only 2 prims!

Visit the Ocean Engineering Store, Ocean Engineering Store, Panthalassa (131, 120, 43), for more autonomous creatures that exhibit complex behavior.

Lag Issues:
This Swimming Shark is anon-physical object which is naturally low lag. Every effort has been taken to minimize other potential lag issues. When in motion it updates its position less than three times a second. AVOID CHASE and ATTACK modes are more laggy, so turn these off if you are concerned. The Shark uses a sculpt to lower the prim count to an amazingly low two prims! This helps decrease lag on the sim, unless you abuse it by rezzing too many sharks.

They do swim randomly tho not very smooth and they dont look right. When watching from out of the water the head area is very dark while the back is very light. Also the back area is very very thin from above!!! I was disappointed to say the least. 500L 6/29/10
