“From Whence It Came and what manner of beast the shell originally housed is not known but its Iron strength gives perfect protection and a base upon which to build our fort.”
The “Shell Castle” is a multi storey ‘High Fantasy’ home which comes with its own Rez-Faux rezer and is perfect for modification
Prim Numbers for the Shell Castle
-----------------------------------------
Total 100 prims + 1 for the rezer.
Flag poles = 8 prim
Main Building = 81 prims
Shell Skeleton = 10 prims
Megaprim Shell <15, 15, 32> = 1 prim
Dimensions: 18m wide x 30m long x 35m tall + additional 10m flag poles.
The Shell Castle can be placed on a 16m x 32m (512 Sq. M.) plot. The outer edges of the turrets and turret roofs do overhang this area by around a meter but the centers of the prims are within this area so cannot be returned by your neighbours.
Once the building is rezed and saved, the rezer prim can be removed. This build contains 1 Mega prim which is used for the shell. You may need to consult you land manager to ensure that mega prims are allowed in the sim you intend to place the building at as some people don’t like them.
Owing to the fact that Sculpty prims do not take on the physical dimensions of the sculpty map applied to them (they always remain physically the original size of the prim they have been applied to), the shell has been constructed as 2 objects to allow access inside the shell. The first object is the sculpty Megaprim. This is a ‘Phantom’ object that shows the shape and texture but has no physical structure. The second object is a ‘skeleton’ of 10 regular prims which have been modeled to mach the contours of the megaprim. They have been painted invisible so as not to spoil the appearance. With such a complex shape as the shell it has not been possible to match every surface of the shell so you may find you can walk into but not through certain areas of the shell. Sadly this is unavoidable without using many more prims and making the prim count unfeasible. A side effect however, is that there are small areas within the coil of the shell that a small avatar can access and hide in. Ill leave you to find them your self. Finally, because the skeleton is invisible make sure you have both the shell and its skeleton selected if you wish to move the structure, once the build has been saved and the rezer prim removed. (see the notecard ‘rez-faux Instructions for buyers’ for details on how to rez and save your build when you purchase the Shell Castle).
All items are supplied as modifiable and copy-able but not transferable except the Rez-Faux software which is a third party product used to allow you to build the tower with the minimum of fuss. Rez-Faux is copy only. If you would like details on how to purchase Rez-Faux for yourself, please check out Lex Neva's profile and look at the classified section. This will give you a location where you can purchase it.
All the doors and trapdoors use ‘Timeless Door scripts’. These can be personalised with sounds, actions and access lists. Please see the notes on how to edit these scripts which can be found at the top of the script of each individual door. Please note these scripts are 'Open Source' and as such no support is provided.
The Shell Castle includes an update script (no mod/Trans) which is in the Rezer Prim. This will check for updates every time the rezer is rezed from your inventory. No updates are planned for this item.
About the Shell Castle
-----------------------------------------
The Shell castle has a few architectural features you may not immediately notice.
The front doors can be opened and closed as you would expect but the entrance stairs in front of them can also be raised and lowered simply by touching them. They use the same script as the doors so can be modified, should you wish.
Inside the front door, in the hall, there is a trapdoor and ladder in the floor which allow access into the shell cellar. While somewhat cramped this area can be used as a dungeon or store room. The trapdoor and ladder each have their own door script and can be raised and lowered independently.
The 2 upper levels are accessed by spiral stairways within the turrets. You may find you need a little practice using them but they will quickly become second nature. These features, rather than TP points have been included so that the build remains practical for RPG sims where the use of technology such as lifts and teleports is not allowed.
