The Iron Gnome Quick Response Security System
~ 1. WARNING! ~
Very important warning #1: When activated, the TBF Iron Gnome security system will teleport home anyone from your parcel immediately, without prior warning, unless their names are on the Admins or Guests notecards inside the gnome. That's all it does - nothing else. If you want a security system with extra features, this security system will not suit your needs. It's a very basic tool.
Very important warning #2: Many land owners do not allow tenants to use security systems that do not warn people in advance. Check the covenant of your land whether this is the case. For example: this system is certainly not allowed to be used in the Linden Homes domain of Bellissaria.
Very important warning #3: In order for this system to work, you need the rights to eject people from your land. I.e. you already need to have the ability to right-click on an avatar on your land and select 'Eject'. If you don't have this capability on the land that you rent, then this system won't work. Also, when the land is deeded to group, this device (the Trans version) also needs to be deeded to group and the owner's name needs to be added to the Admin list as well. The pack contains one No Copy / Trans version of the gnome.
~ 2. SETUP ~
The TBF Iron Gnome has two notecards inside, one called 'Admins' and one called 'Guests'. Put any name in there (UUID is okay too - this may be handy if people change their names from time to time) and save the notecard. Admins will all be able to toggle the Gnome on and off. Guests are not able to do that, but otherwise are still tolerated on the parcel.
If you want any of your admins to be able to add or remove names, you'll have to grant them your edit rights. This can be set in your Friends List in the SL viewer.
~ 3. OPERATION ~
Operation is very simple by design: just click to toggle the system on or off. When the system is on, the little gnome eyes will glow up red in a blinking fashion.
You and all the admins will be notified whenever the system is turned on or off, and whenever a trespasser is being kicked out. Notifications will only reach you or your admins if they are inside the same region.
When neither you nor any of your admins or guests is on the parcel and the system is still activated, the Gnome will go into slumber mode. This means that it will no longer kick out any trespassers. However, as soon as anyone of you, your admins or your guests returns to the parcel, any trespasser present at that time will be teleported home immediately.
Whenever someone is kicked out, they will also get a warning message. However, when they read it, it is already too late. [Insert diabolical laughter.]
~ 4. ACCESSORIES ~
In order to prevent anyone from trespassing and being teleported home, the TBF Iron Gnome pack includes a special warning sign. Place one or more copies of this sign along the borders of your parcel.
Whenever the sign is being touched by the owner, it will turn either visible or invisible.
Whenever the Gnome is activated, all the signs become visible. Conversely, whenever the Gnome is either inactivated or goes into slumber mode (see 'Operation'), the signs become invisible.
At all times, the sign is phantom, i.e. it will not obstruct avatars or vehicles in any way.
~ 5. LIMITATIONS ~
Teleporting a trespasser home causes a script to sleep for 5 seconds. This is an intentional limitation imposed by Linden Lab. To counter this limitation to some extent, the TBF Iron Gnome contains 5 scripts, each with the task of sending someone home. Consequently, the system is able to teleport a group of people home one at a time every single second. This means that, whenever 10 unwelcome people show up on your parcel all at once, it will still take 10 seconds for everyone to have been kicked out. However, this is an unlikely situation. In general, only 1 or 2 unwanted people may show up at any given moment.
Another limitation involves someone's home destination. If, in a very rare case, their home is the same as the parcel they are being kicked off from, they will remain on the parcel. In that case, you'll have to manually add their name to the parcel's ban list in 'Parcel Details' in your SL viewer's menu.

See item in Second LifeI like this a lot! (❁´◡`❁)
I found this iron gnome by accident.
Because TBF created it, it's cute-looking, its security system is simple and no-fuss, and it cost L$10; I purchased it.
I had an issue where I didn't add my name a second time, which caused the Trans version not to activate.
When you rez the gnome, it automatically adds your name to the Admins card.
So I reasoned, gee, that's cool. I don't have to add my name because of that automatic name-adding feature.
But my thought was wrong.
For the gnome to activate, I must manually add my name again onto the Admins card.
So now my name is listed twice on said card.
TBF creator Arduenn helped me realize the issue, and my Trans version gnome is activated.
Thank you again for your help.
I recommend this excellent, simple, no-fuss security system.
2 thousand stars, or at least 200
I've gotten tickled with this little dude.
OK so Yah, I live in Belli, so I cannot use this as a security alarm.
But I just hadda have him to replace my great halloweeny stuff i just took down! He fits right in! But um I just wasn't absolutely positive I could remove all the scripts and stuff. Coz I don't be breakin any rules out there =) But I could, and did, just delete all contents.
BUT... Imma gonna have to figure somethin out about the missing red-possessed-eyes, cos when I deleted (on a copy of this!) all the alarm stuff in it, the red eyes were part of it.
So he looks so cute standin there!! Without eyes. So far.
I love this store every time I return to it - thanks Ardeunn!!
