The Kiss is an 1889 marble sculpture by the French sculptor Auguste Rodin. The embracing couple depicted in the sculpture appeared originally as part of a group of reliefs decorating Rodin's monumental bronze portal The Gates of Hell, commissioned for a planned museum of art in Paris.
Before creating the marble version of The Kiss, Rodin produced several smaller sculptures in plaster, terracotta and bronze.
This sculpture is flat but looks realistic because of it relief and shadows. It is two-sided: one side is normal, the other bright.
NOT A SCULPTURE
this should be in wall art or textures. This is a picture of a sculpture, not an actual sculpture! I could've uploaded this myself for 10Ls.
Beautiful
Oké, the figure is flat but the three dimensional effect is great by the relief and the shadows. So value for money. After all the text of the advertisement is very clear about that.
disappointed
yes be aware it is flat, like a texture, could have been done like a sculpture instead. not happy with this
