SL had its multi-prim doors that couldn't be linked, followed by the "half-a-prim" doors that could be linked. Now it's the time of the linked sculpted doors. One prim has it all: door and hardware in fancy 3D modelling.
You can either texture the door with a common tileable texture, as is done in the sample, or you can make the door even fancier with a custom texture. The template already has the hardware (yellow) and insets (green) marked, and there's a lot more you can do.
When linking the door to your building, select the door FIRST and the building LAST. The frame prim in the sample is an easy way to fit a door in a wall, using only 1 prim.
FINISH BUILDING BEFORE ADDING SCRIPT!
The script is in the door prim. Before you put that script in your own door, look inside the crate named "Thorenbuilt - Door Helper Script". It has the instructions as well as a little script to setup the door script. If you have our Country Kitchen counters or hutches, you recognize the script. The only difference in this one is the sounds that are more door- and less cabinet-like.
