This tip jar features our latest Generation3 scripting supporting the latest features of Second Life for new and old residents of the game – including SL user names.
Pot of Gold Tips has evolved over time, with its last major update done in a time we were experimenting with animation and rezzing. Too much animation becomes a bit laggy - however, temp rezzing a special feature is fun with select tip jars.
In this case, it rezzes a rainbow of course -- not a particle effect, but a rainbow prim circling the tip jar for a brief period of time after tip. The rainbow rezzes as a temp prim (doesn't count towards prim count) and it is scripted to die in 8 seconds.
For the Gen3 update, we adjusted the rainbow to align with the handle (when rotation is off, which is now the default). We also added adjustable glow under the coins to make then stand out in an interesting manner. The rainbow doesn't glow quite as much now as with Linden changes over time, the glow had become a bit much at certain times of the day.
