Resenhas

Make your Second Life building and scripting workflow easier with this Touch Face + Link Detector Script.

This script is designed to help creators quickly find important touch data from any linked object. When you click a screen, button, prim, panel, or object part, the script will report the clicked link number, prim name, face number, and touch UV/ST position directly to the owner.

This is especially useful when creating interactive items such as touchscreen monitors, feedback kiosks, menu boards, vendor panels, control panels, HUD-style interfaces, payment terminals, and texture-changing objects.

It is also a great tool for anyone who is just starting to learn Second Life scripting. One of the first steps in making something interactive is knowing exactly which part of the object is being touched. This script makes that setup process simple and beginner-friendly.

How It Works

Place the script inside the root prim of your linked object. Then click the monitor, button, panel, or surface you want to detect.

The script will send the owner a result like:

TOUCH DETECTED
Link Number: 7
Prim Name: Monitor
Face Number: 2
Touch UV/ST: <0.51234, 0.43821, 0.00000>

You can then use this information in your main script to set textures, detect buttons, trigger sounds, create menus, or map clickable areas.

Important Note

This is a utility / setup script. It is made to help you find the correct link, face, and touch position before creating or finalizing your interactive script.

It does not create a full vendor, payment terminal, or feedback system by itself. It helps you collect the data needed to build those systems.
