Welcome to Valpennac !
We are in 1705, last decade of the reign of Louis XIV, the Sun King, in the old French province of Quercy. On the peaceful banks of the river Lot, Frederic, last count of Valpennac just moved in his newly built home.
A few years later, his only daughter, Adrienne inherited the elegant early XVIII th century castle. Defying rules and tradition, a union of love and money was celebrated in Valpennac, when the noble, young and very rich Adrienne married a young and rich commoner, Jules Lesclapiers. Together, they extended house and gardens to create the place that can still be visited today.
PACKAGE CONTENT AND FEATURES
Valpennac 1705 is available in 2 versions, with (LI = 361) or without (LI = 333) basement. Its main features:
- house is full mesh, so modifications will be limited to partial re-texturing (see below)
- footprint is 38m x 34m
- 4 levels, 2 main floors, attic and optional basement, 20 rooms in total
- ground floor with entrance hall, grand stair-case, dining room, central drawing room, music room, study,
- 1st floor with master suite (anteroom, main bedroom, study/bathroom) and a hall leading to the guest bedroom and the 2nd floor stair-case
- 2nd floor/attic with 4 bedrooms and attic
- basement with main hall (former kitchen) and 4 cellars
- all main rooms with fireplace (scripted menu to rez logs or fire)
- all living rooms wallpapers can be changed by menu (selecting from 22 textures included), or re-textured with your personal choice
- white paneling and gilding can be tinted separately to personalize your decoration even more
- floors can be re-textured
- scripted doors and windows
- original custom textures and materials optimized for Advanced Lightning Model
- house is sold unfurnished
- this version (V1.1) is winter (snow) enabled for roofs and outside steps, via a hud included in package.
VIEWER GRAPHICS SETTINGS
If your PC Graphic card allows, better display results for textures (inside/outside) will be obtained with Advanced Lighting Model and Sun/Moon Shadows selection.
For best display of mesh objects, set your LOD factor to 4.

A Dream Home
I was not sure at first since I have owned various period builds in SL in the past. Valpennac fulfilled all it promised and more! The chateau is exquisite and the things it offers are easy to handle and very beautiful. Skillful textures and design make this one of the best period homes I have ever seen in SL. I am so glad to call it my home! Bravo, monsieur Silex!

I really splurged today and bought the matching stable with this mansion, along with the gardens I'm going to be collecting from this seller. My plot is now a magical, mysterious land but so classy and decadent. Just in awe of this seller's work. Thank you so much!!!

One of the most amazing buildings I have seen in sl. Exceptional craftmanship for the price and really low LI compared to its size and quality. Perfect for historical rp or just to live in. Would give it more starts if I could.
Absolutely Magnificent
Silex and Sean, the two creators at Never Totally Dead have taken their work into a new dimension with this magnificent mansion. Everywhere you turn the level of detail just jumps out at you. From the detail on the columns to the fine detail on the wainscotting, nothing is overlooked. The house is special in many ways. And it deserves care and attention when placing it on your property. If at all possible, buy all of the extras and make it the special place that it deserves to be. Absolutely magnificent!

I like to collect mansions and castles so i have quite a few in my inventory, this is my favorite so far. If you like old european architecture then this build is for you.
it does have some minor issues with lods that you can fix yourself for the most part by altering the lod debug settings.
Friendly creator who will go out of his way to make it work for you, with the easy change through a hud from summer to winter season, i will no doubt keep this one up on my sim for a long time.

Very well made, lots of detail, many options, just a pleasure to explore.
Make sure you go see it inworld, not just to see it before buying but because there are also many other buildings for sale that are not (yet) on marketplace.
