Where to begin on the story of this plane?
Many years ago Angus and I met a Character named Blacktip Razor. We first saw him from our perch at the South West corner of Hollywood he was flying the original Angus chair plane, and was tearing up the sky with it. When he landed we had a chat with him and the three of us became fast friends. This lead to several years of friendship, and many, many stories.
One of his favorite planes that he flew on a regular basis was a BD-5 Twin tail that Angus and I had made. Much later when we began making mesh planes I decided to go back and revisit that plane, and make something that was inspired by that look and performance of the BD-5. Many Saturday and Sunday mornings Blacktip would be with me on the build deck as I worked on it. Coffee, cigarettes, and many more stories became the regular routine as I worked on the plane. He was very much looking forward to flying it. Unfortunately he had passed before it was ever completed, and so it sat on the proverbial "bench".
Angus took a break from Second Life, and I took a break from Second Life. And now years later we have come back to revisit this aircraft. And so we began to update it with a new look and functionality far beyond its original design. We only wish that Blacktip was still here to be able enjoy this. We think that he would have.
