This is a replica of a French double harpsichord (two keyboards) after an instrument made by Taskin around 1765. This model is out of my own head, though inspired by the dark royal purple interior of the Ste. Chapelle in Paris, with gold fleur-de-lis and gold leaf legs, interior lid, and keyboard surround. The lid is scripted to go up and down, and the soundboard is lavishly painted in period style.
This instrument is also available in a simple model in light birch with fluted legs in a darker wood, or in a historically accurate black lacquer with gold banding and red interior with Chinoiserie.
