We don't do much of gallows humor here at the Wingsong Dojo. But today was a dark and dreary kind of day and one of the Mad Scientists made a scowly face and said, "I just feel like hanging someone!"
OK - actually, he was frustrated about being on hold for 45 minutes waiting for customer service at the cable company. But still....
So anyway, I said, "Well, Frank, if that's how you feel go make yourself some gallows. We'll market it as a Halloween doodad."
"But Halloween's not for another 11 months, three weeks, and four days!" Frank whined.
Frank whines alot, if you want to know the truth.
I replied, "Frank, Halloween comes every year. People will want a gallows next year!"
So Frank went skipping happily into the back room, followed by Ben and Brenda, who, thankfully, were NOT skipping. The three of them rolled out the Wingsong Gallows about an hour later.
Frank's avatar was hanging in it. He said he was just "hanging around."
Yeah, we rolled our eyes, too!
Anyway, here it is - The Wingsong Gallows! Click anywhere on the gallows and watch yourself dangle lifelessly. We made it with an original Wingsong animation (not a pose - your feet and arms actually move a little as if being blown a bit by the wind). The rope is some old hemp someone found in the basement of the barn, and the wood is from lumber we had stored behind the garage.
Click anywhere on the wood to toggle random ghostly sounds - some maniacal laughter, a few cursory screams, the perfunctory rattling of the chains and distant thunder, a little howling - that sort of thing. Sounds play every 2 to 3 minutes or so, so they're not intrusive - just add a little atmosphere to the moment.
Excellent for your Halloween displays and cemetery scenes, or anywhere you want to enhance your macabre moments. Could be fun for role playing sims? I don't know.
We're including the Wingsong Noose as well, which is just like the gallows except it doesn't have the lumber - it's one less prim (3) than the whole gallows set, and is suitable for positioning near a tree or other device of your choosing.
Naturally, we have to include our Wingsong Baby Buzzard with this. Naturally! This comes with a REZ version which you might want to set up on the top beam of your gallows. Or you can wear your Baby Buzzard Buddy. Touch his head to toggle a little light on and off. Touch his main body to hear him screech a little buzzard screech. Touch his beak to toggle on a really great rain.
AND - everything is this package is COPY/MOD, so make all the copies you want and recolor, redecorate, resize, retexture, reDO to make it fit YOUR specs! I'm even throwing in a FREE Wingsong Modify Box, a simple, easy to use tutorial for folks with little experience in the EDIT tool.
Don't be misled by the low cost of our items. We can afford to do this because we create excellent items and provide excellent customer service and support, and sell ALOT of doodads.
