Row, row, row your BOAT! In a Wingsong Row Boat!
With the world being full of some really great old row boats, why in the world would we want to build another one?
Because in all my travels, studying shipyards, marinas, and piers in search of a boat that gave me all the low lag, high fun, low cost features my sensibilities (HAHAHAHA!) demanded, I could not find a single boat that does everything that the Wingsong Rows do!
Our boat yard has several Wingsong Row Boats. The Wingsong Row Slow Poke Boat (say that three times real fast!) is designed for those who really, really like to move slowly! Traveling at a whomping 1 meter per second (which if I am not mistaken is as slow as one can possibly go!), in this Slow Poke Boat you can maneuver your boat with great ease, see the sights, and write the Great American novel between the Black Sea and the Noxious Sim. GREAT for chatting, IMMing, piddling on a lazy afternoon when you should be, you know, doing something constructive!
But in my experience, row boats and constructive behavior are seldom used in the same sentence.
You and I have both seen PRETTIER boats. But heck, if you were looking for pretty you wouldn't be looking at Wingsong, would you? Also, realistically, most if not all row boats have pointy bows. The Wingsong Row Slow Poke Boats have rounded bows. Why? Because I like rounded bows. (But if you want a point bow let me know - I got one in the shipyard that I can whip up for you right quick!)
Additionally, as you know, most rowers row backwards. This has always disturbed me to no end. One likes to see where one is going without having to crank one's neck out of joint. So, given the opportunity, I turned myself around so I could see where I was going.
Sometimes I get scared at what's ahead and wish I had kept my back to the future!
Seriously - I tried it the "right" way but my avi kept eyeballing me and it was just plain creepy.
So - to answer the original question about why the world might benefit from yet another row boat? Here are ten reasons:
1 - Excellent original Wingsong ANIMATION - Your arms might get tired just watching!
2 - Two SCULPTY OARS - The right one rows really great. The left one isn't terrible but it's not as smooth. But then, I'm right handed! WEAR your oars (Wingsong Oar right hand and Wingsong Oar left hand).
3 - Very relaxing rhythmic SURF SOUND when you board your little boat.
4 - A great BOAT HORN that you can play by touching the stern (such a BIG sound for such a LITTLE boat!)
5 - Multiple avatar SEATING - Only the pilot's seat is scripted, so your friends can point and sit using their default sitting animations at several places on the boat.
6 - RAIN MAKER - You can toggle this really nice rain shower on and off by touching the pilot's seat.
7 - ILLUMINATING TORCH - Touch to turn it off and on - EXCELLENT illumination for night rowing. Being safety conscious here at the dojo, we installed an automatic extinguisher. If I've done my math correctly, and I don't guarantee that I have, the fire slowly burns out over a ten to twelve minute period. You can turn it back on by clicking it. Includes cracking fire sound.
8 - TINY LITTLE MIST - I don't know what this is all about. It's coming from that box under your feet, and I don't know what's in the box either. Looks ominous. Anyway, you can turn it on and off by touching the box. I discourage you turning it on - you just don't know what it's going to do! This is what comes from having Mad Scientists with no sense of humor on my staff. I ask them what's in the box and why it has that, that STUFF coming out of it. They just look frightened and skulk away into the shadows of the dungeon (that is, FINE WORKSHOP) where they live.
9 - WAKE - I know. You're speeding so fast you can actually cause a wake, right? OK. Well, such as it is, there's a tiny little wake as you row along at 1 meter per second! You can toggle it on and off by touching that little wood knob just under the bow. Yeah. THAT'S the one.
10 - CRUISE CONTROL - Point yourself in the direction you want to go, touch the up arrow key, and WHOOSH! You're off like a - turtle! Press the PAGE DOWN key to brake.
Your Wingsong Row Slow Poke Boat is COPY/MOD, so make all the copies you want and recolor, redecorate, resize, retexture, reDO to make it fit YOUR specs! I'm even throwing in a FREE Wingsong Modify Box, a simple, easy to use tutorial for folks with little experience in the EDIT tool.

ADORE THE CANOE!!!
Looks just like the photo and does exactly as described. I love the slow motion because it's easy to maneuver and sight see as you float along.
