The mesh model is nice, it looks like the picture. However, the flicker effect is practically nonexistent. This fluorescent lamp emits no light whatsoever. None at all. So if you buy this hoping for the light effect, you're going to be extremely disappointed.

The "flicker effect" is a combination of adjusting the opacity of the lamp tube texture and adjusting the amount of glow emitted by the object's surfaces. That's it. No light effect, no sound effect. It's difficult to even tell it's there at all unless you're staring directly at the lamp.

The lack of any sound effect is a more typical SL oversight. I'm not sure why, but SL content creators seem to always overlook sound design. Fluorescent lamps make a sound when they flicker. The lack of a light effect is confusing.

The textures on this are way larger than necessary, but that's a common SL problem and I've seen way worse out there.

One thing that really put me off was the packaging, of all things. It arrived in a no-copy box that deleted itself after I unpacked the lamp.

Anyone who mods or who has experienced SL's asset server issues can tell you this is a huge no-no. You always want to keep the box an object came in so you can retrieve a fresh version. If the box was copyable, leaving a copy in inventory when you rez it on the ground, this would be a non-issue.

The model is nice and the idea is great, it just needs a little more work to achieve what the creator was intending.
