Bleriot XI
Famous worldwide for being the plane used by Louis Bleriot in his flight across the Channel in 1909, the model XI was one of the most effective and reliable aicraft of its time.
Remained in production until the outbreak of the First World War, using diferent engines and in single or two-seats configurations.
In 1911 some italian planes were used in North Africa, being the first use of an aircraft in a war.
Many versions were built, for military and civilian use (even floatplanes), and the fame gained for the aicraft in Europe opened the chance to be lined up in the air forces for such distant places as New Zealand, Argentina, Japan or the Ottoman Empire, as a few examples.
The model represented is the XI used for Bleriot in his epic trip, and fits a 25 HP three cylinder Anzani engine and tail skid instead of wheel.
