In short, the Bright Finder will find and report on all the objects on a parcel of land. You can optionally filter the results by owner, or a search string to be found in object names. You don't even have to own the parcel - you can find items in your rental, your favourite sandbox, or wherever you happen to be - all you need to be able to do is rez the one prim search ball.
To search, just rez the ball, and click it to display a menu with three options. Optionally click [Owner Name] to specify whose objects to find, [Object Name] to specify a string to find in the objects' names, or [Normal/CSV] to select CSV format output, and then click [FIND!] to begin the search.
The ball will turn invisible, and disturb no one as it flies round searching. It will report progress as it goes, and send a message every time it finds an item, giving the items name, owner, land impact, and an SLURL link which will teleport you straight to the object. While it is searching, you don't have to wait - just get on with your day: you don't even have to stay in the same region, the messages will keep coming if you leave.
Most searches are completed within a few minutes, and at the end of the search, the ball will report the number of objects found, the total land impact, and then delete itself. But as the ball is copyable, you can rez another from your inventory whenever you need it.
There are a lot of search devices on Second Life, but most have a range of only 96m, and can find a 32 objects at most - because they make a single use of Second Life's scripting language search function, which can only see 96m and report 32 object names. The Bright Finder is a real search utility, and will search an entire parcel, from 0m to 4096m up in the sky - the entire space you can build in.

I install the TIS Hybrid Dance Machine system for my customer, I have to rezz the main machine in different place. when it's time to upgrade the script, I have to TP my self where is the main machine. Some time it's have been moved and hard to find, Also the owner of the land are not always present. So I had other scan system but just saw at 96 m. max. so was not help me at all. I look for some thing can find any where into the same sim wide. I buy this system and in nearby chat I type /4 TIS Hybrid Dance Machine Guess what....the system find it and send me the location for be able to tp over it!. Now I will buy 2 more 1 for Shrantal my alt and one for my Mike he love this kind of tool. Very satisfy. and it will save me so much time in search!.

This will do what it says. The larger the parcel, the longer it will take. It is best to limit your searches by specific name and/or owner, but that's what it is for. To find an object. *smiles* It really comes in handy and I recommend it.
It would be wonderful if they could add search by creator too. That would really make it much more precise. Ever lost an object someone else made named "object" - you'll know what I mean then. :)

so easy to use,few minutes and i did find all items my tenants left..i do recommend this tool.

This now goes on my short list of best investments in SL.
Scan results on a parcel I rent, where my name is not on the Land as "owner": I rezzed and clicked the ball to search > ball reported in chat auto-mapping a rental of 896m2, the scan took 1 minute total, it found the item and reported name + a TP-link to it > I clicked the TP, didn't see anything, used rotating camera thingy and saw the item was underground, deleted the item and done. And because the ball deletes itself, I need take no further action. This tool will be great to have!
