All of our pieces are inspired by paintings, illustrations and fashion plates of the period portrayed.
This particular piece is a Regency or Empire style home dress in striped cotton with a high waistine and a small waist ribbon. Inspired by the paintings of Rouget portraying the fashion of 1804 to 1820.
Our recommendations:
Wear with flat silk slippers or ballerina style shoes for the full regency look.
*AO issues: this skirt is attached to the spine to give the effect of a high waistline skirt required by the Empire Style of gown. It works better with very simple AO's with limited movements of the hips, I find animations meant for Kimonos work really well with period clothing.
