Simple group inviter script.
Add the script to the content of your sign, and set the sign to that group.
When someone clicks the sign it announces a link in chat.
Click the link opens the group information box where they can click your 'join now' button.
Easy peasy, lemon squeezey :D

Does What Is Needed
This is all you need if all you want to do is put a link to the group into an object that anyone can click on. It is nice that it gives in chat the name of the object that just gave you the link. Just be sure to name the object appropriately and to one that is actually useful to the person who is receiving this message. Wear the tag for the group you want people to join, that makes it easy to put the object to the right group. Whatever group the object is set to is the group that the link will take someone to.
