MORE DETAILS OF THE SETUP:

Easy setup instructions
----------------------------------

I. version

1. Rez the elevator and move into its starting position.
2. Touch it then select RECORD.
3. For every level (including the 'Lobby' level) move the elevator by hand and touch/select SETPOINT. Use SNAP option to snap to whole Z coordinates.
4. When you are finished, touch/select FINALIZE, then touch/select START.

II. version

This version is best suited for identical levels. (Like if you have 5 stories, having 6 metres of distance between each of them.)

1. Create a notecard, name it _config. (There is an underscore in front of the word config...)
2. For every level, enter its coordinates in a vector format. Make sure the X, Y coordinates are the same for every levels.

Example for 3 levels (including lobby):

<100,55,120>
<100,55,126>
<100,55,132>

Save the notecard into your inventory.

3. Rez the elevator, touch/select DELETE. The elevator will get rid of its own current _config card. Now, holding CTRL, drag and drop your _config card (from your inventory) onto the elevator.
4. Touch/select USENC to turn notecard usage ON, then touch/select START.

Calling buttons
----------------------

For every elevator you can only have ONE calling button/object PER level.

1. Rez the calling button. Move it next to the elevator OR move it to a location that is close to your level coordinates.

2. Repeat it for every levels.

3. Touch the button to test if the elevator comes when it is called. If it doesn't come, move the calling button object closer to the XYZ coordinates of that given level.

great looking elevator, but people fall through

Installed per the instructions, the car stops at each floor perfectly, but the door animation closes, then the elevator sits there for a while before it jumps to the desired floor leaving the passengers behind. The aesthetics of the build are top notch even the one with the metal sides that are a battle damaged breastplate texture. The function however is disappointing. If it worked properly I would give it a 5 star rating without second thought.

A great product; very poor installation and programming instructions

What can I say? The product is beautiful, very true to elevators of the period (............... though I wonder why the vintage elevator cage which can be seen at the in-world store is not in the package..................hmmmm...????) After reading the "instructions" and knocking my head against the wall for 90 minutes, I contacted someone who had given it a good review and asked for her help. Indeed, my elevator was up and running beautifully in 10 minutes. I would STRONGLY encourage Miss Dibou to engage a top notch technical writer to review all of her instructions and programming notes. It would make a huge difference in the overall quality of the product, and would immediately eliminate the poor reviews here. With better instructions I would have given it 5 stars. :)

Remarkably Small - And you CANNOT RESIZE! DOES NOT FIT ALL BUILDS!

Let me start off by saying that the artwork of this elevator is beautiful. However I MUST WARN YOU that it does not fit all builds, and the elevator is REMARKABLY SMALL, so small in fact that I didn't even bother trying out the script to see if it worked as it is impossible to resize the elevator to fit your own build.

I asked if the size could be modified but it seems very unlikely as the owner cannot script and cannot get hold of the original scripter of the elevator in order to modify the size.

I proceeded to ask for a re-fund as I plain and simply do not have any use for an elevator that you have to cram inside - and it seems as if the owner has ignored my request.

LOVE IT

I had a teleport system in my store that confused everyone and my merchants on the 2nd & 3rd floor where not getting as much traffic due to it. So, I decided on an elevator. After much searching, and knowing JD's quality I settled on this product. I already had a shaft from the teleport system and after some modification I got this to fit in beautifully. Since I have a store in a steampunk sim this looks perfect! It took a few trial and errors to get it working right but it was easy none the less. After installing I left for a while and when I returned I noticed people have been using the elevator. I am so happy to see this! I have no complaints about getting to other floors and traffic has picked up for my renters due to the easier transport. People seem to realize more there are more floors and since the elevator is open on both ends I can have a sign on the other side of the shaft with the floors listed which helps. Thank you for such a wonderful product, there is not a single issue I can see with this and I have owned this probably for 2 weeks through a few heavy sim crashes and still has not flawed.

i found it to be pretty easy to set up i found one thing lacking and thats a shaft door it would be great if the door on the elevators came as a seperate object and was set to open or close even from colision so you could match up the door to the elevator design it would be relitivle easy for the creator to include it
