What's in this kit:
SF:: ~JJ~ Hanging Chain
SF:: ~JJ~ LED Grow Light

To use your Grow Light rez it in-world and position it to hover over the object(s) you want it to shine on. By default the light is off when it is rezzed the first time. To turn it on touch the fixture for a menu prompt. From this menu you can select your operational preferences:
Ultraviolet ~ Sets the light mode to ultraviolet emission.
Infrared ~ Sets the light mode to infrared emission.
Full ~ Sets the light mode to full-spectrum emission.
Light Off ~ Turns the light off.
Timer ~ Enables the light to automatically turn on at sunrise and off at sunset based on parcel/region time of day. If the last mode selected is "Light Off" then the light will not turn on at all until you choose a mode that emits light. When the timer is enabled there may be up to a 10-second delay between the mode selection and the light reacting to it. This is normal.
DONE ~ Closes the menu and retains your operational settings.
The light emission settings are already established for you in the Light Settings notecard. If you prefer alternate settings you can edit this notecard with your own preferred values:
intensity ~ Sets the brightness of the emitted light. Valid range is [0.0 - 1.0] and the default value is 1.0
radius ~ Sets the distance the light will reach from the source. Valid range is [0.0 - 20.0] and the default value is 10.0
falloff ~ Sets how quickly the light fades from the source. Valid range is [0.0 - 2.0] and the default value is 0.0
fov ~ Sets how wide the projected beam is. Valid range is [0.0 - 3.0] and the default value is 1.5
focus ~ Sets how blurry or sharp the projected image is. Valid range is [-20.0 - 20.0] and the default value is -20.0
ambiance ~ Sets how much light penetrates around surfaces. Valid range is [0.0 - 1.0] and the default value is 0.25
glow ~ Sets the glow amount on the surface of the light face. Valid range is [0.0 - 1.0] and the default value is 0.1
Please note that you must have Advanced Lighting enabled in your viewer to be able to see lighting and materials effects. Refer to your viewer's documentation on how to access the Advanced Lighting settings.
The Hanging Chain is included in the pack to offer an option for hanging the light. This is a simple non-scripted object that can be rezzed and modified to suit your mounting requirements. Rez any number of chains and use Edit mode to position and scale than as needed.
Using the API:
The grow light includes an API that you can tap into for scripting your light to interact with other avatars or objects. The API works using link messages for incoming and outgoing commands. Outgoing commands appear in messages where the value (the second link message parameter) is 6 and incoming messages are read where the value is 9. The commands that are valid in each direction of communication are: "off", "ultra", "infra" and "full" representing the four possible states of the light.
For example, if you want to send a command from your script in the light's link to turn it on in Infrared mode you would execute this line:
llMessageLinked(LINK_THIS, 9, "infra", NULL_KEY);
The keyword you send is not case-sensitive so "INFRA" or "InFrA" would also work equally well. Outgoing messages are always sent in lowercase.
But what about an API message for the timer? The built-in timer does not contain any extra modes of operation for the light itself so there is no API call to turn it on and off. It is meant to be set manually and run the lights automatically. The timer will still work if you activate or deactivate it using the touch menu. You can, however, script a timer of your own or any other function that controls the light's mode using the API. Remember to activate or deactivate the built-in timer manually especially if your script uses a timer of its own. The built-in timer could interfere with your script's functions if it is left on while your script is doing what it does.

I bought these because of good reviews . . .
. . . and am adding my own 5 stars. These are easy to install, the chain adds a touch of realism, and the lights are quite attractive. Very pleased, definitely a 5 star product. Oh, I am using these in a large open warehouse as grow lights, and they show up nicely. My plants are pleased, too.
Perfect for light therapy
I use this over a bondage table for some extra light therapy :)
