You can click this HUD and it scans the region for avatars. It let's you zoom in to see who is nearby, not within 96m, but the whole region. This means thousands of meters away. It is tested and works to view avatars over 5,000 meters away!
If you are lazy you can look around with one click of the button. Good for locating your friends or just as a way to look at who is in the same region.
There is a fully featured menu, with options and settings. It's quite useful to see who is where doing what.
You can set the scan time in seconds. You can change the list sorting by distance, name, username and display name. You can choose to skip the menu and automatically start scans. Click to start & click to stop...easy.
The menu shows the avatar's name and distance from you, their coordinates in the region and a link to easily open their profile.
The menu lists all the names of the avatars in the region. Just click a name to automatically zoom in on that avatar. Then buttons are displayed, such as a previous and next arrow, and an exit button. Also buttons to start scanning or pause the scan.
If the avatar walks out of view, click the focus button to re-position the camera. There is also a button to zoom in or zoom out slightly. Also there are buttons to view from the back or from the sides. Your look at cross-hairs will not appear on them unless you alt-click on them.
Previously known as "Scan The Room", Avatar Viewer has been completely updated and redesigned. It now includes a fully featured menu, sub-menu and options menu.
It is very important that you "disable camera constraints" in the advanced menu to view avatars at very far distances.
Please note that parcel owners have the ability to hide avatars for a parcel. That means that avatars inside the parcel cannot be seen by avatars outside the parcel.

No. Crashed My Viewer Multiple Times!
Good concept, but a waste of money if it is not stable. Crashed my viewer three times upon launch. Also, there are too many buttons to choose from. Click more than a few buttons, and CRASH CITY. Some avs will not show, even at 100m. I did get a distant avatar to show, but viewer crashed. Asking for a refund. :(
Technically it lives up to it's claims.
Just be aware of the description warning that nowadays certain locations have the ability to hide the inhabitants. With a little practice it's amazing what it can do. The maker was very willing to help if you had difficulty using this viewer.
