Flying Shadow HUD - Show off without capsizing
***************************************************
For those times when you're showing off and absolutely must not capsize.
The Flying Shadow is The Mesh Shop's foiling rocket - a dinghy that lifts onto its foils above 8 knots and flies. This HUD lets you fly her single-handed. Tap for sails. Tap for the kite. The HUD handles autopilot, foils, hiking, and the bits that would've put you in the water.
No crew. No capsizing. No fiddling with chat commands while the boat is trying to throw you off.

How it works
***************************************************
Traditional SL wind systems set the wind in world coordinates - south-westerly at 15 knots, say. The moment you turn, the wind shifts and the sails need re-trimming. Get it wrong and you stall, broach, or in a foiling dinghy, swim.
The Flying Shadow HUD works the other way round. Set the wind angle relative to your bow - broad reach off the starboard quarter, say - and the HUD locks it there. Whatever direction you steer, the sails stay full. You go where you point.
One tap of Sails raises the main, waits, then raises the jib. One second after that, autopilot engages itself. From then on you steer freely - the sails stay trimmed however you turn.

Auto foil, auto hike, auto kite
***************************************************
A foiling dinghy is a busy boat. The leeward daggerboard needs to drop when you start flying, retract when you slow down, and stay up when the boat is heeling too hard. Your weight needs to hike to windward as she leans. The spinnaker needs to fly at exactly the right angle, and drop when you stray off it.
The HUD does all this for you. Daggerboards deploy at 8 knots, retract at 6. Hiking kicks in past 8° of heel. The spinnaker snaps to 121° on raise - the kite's fastest angle. Drag the arc outside the 115°–150° band while the kite is up, and the HUD drops the kite before you bin it.

Compatibility
***************************************************
Purpose-built for The Mesh Shop's Flying Shadow foiling dinghy. Talks to the boat on channel 29000 using the BOSS engine command set.
* Not for racing. Organised SL races use enforced event wind set by race buoys, which override personal wind HUDs. The Flying Shadow HUD is for private sailing - leisurely tours, full-tilt blasts across open water, and showing off without capsizing.
If you experience any issues with your HUD, contact Joshua Lit in-world before leaving a review and I will do my best to help.
