Welcome to Hackberry Hall, we had been expecting you for sooo long!
Hackberry Hall is an imposing Victorian manor located in the south-west of England. Constructed of brick elevations (at least what is left of it...) under a slate tiled roof, the property dates back to circa 1885.
A bit of history... A couple of years before it was built, a new railway line was to pass through the land. It is said that Dr Jack Inzebox had speculated on the Red Steam Cie bankruptcy and in unclear circumstances became the new owner of the land. He then used his new wealth to erect an ostentatious house that would soon be the talk of the county. The slate tower roofs rising above Hackberry forest gave a new landmark to the nearby village: Hackberry Hall was born.
Now, you must be impatient to know all the details concerning this "magnificent" dwelling. Accommodation in 16 rooms is arranged over three floors:
- ground level with entry hall, drawing room, music room, dining room (not sure you will ever eat anything there...), office and a large kitchen
- first floor with two wonderful double master suites (I here need to tell you a woman was once found strangled in the red boudoir, but well, this was a long time ago...), nursery (is this really reasonable???), lounge and (damp) bathroom.
- third floor with three bedrooms, attic. Roof top is accessible with a ladder through a hatch in one of the upper rooms.
Decoration has never been altered since the house was built (and this will appear to be obvious at first sight...) Why is that? Nobody can tell... With some courage and energy, and if you don't mind squeaky doors and cracks in the walls, I am sure you will make the place splendid again.
Ah, finally... the story goes that a secret room has never been discovered (or that nobody ever got out of it...) you might be more lucky...
Notwithstanding broken windows and wandering lost souls, Hackberry Hall is undoubtedly a most charming place. But why waste your time listening to me, here are the keys, go there and visit as long as you can... I hope you don't mind if I wait for you here.

Worthy of the Addams Family
I never found a place to live on SL that I could call home, until now. The manor is perfect for my RP. It's easy to imagine having inherited the house from Gomez and Morticia Addams. My lot is 900 prims, which might be enough to decorate every room in the house. I bought a few other items from the seller, all were excellent.
This house is now a part of me
Ive owned like 10 houses in 5 months since I joined SL and I love to build and rebuild houses so well I bought this one over 2 months ago and Ive stopped buying more houses cause I can't take this one down, I just cant! Its a part of me, almost creepy. The story behind it, the feeling of that there is something in the house that have grabbed my soul and wont let it go. My room mates finds it spooky though, that might be the only negative thing and I have even done some major restoration on it but to no avail, they are still scared. One room is still intact though from the time when the poor girl that had her throat slit open lived there. She is still walking the stairs searching for her lost child.
The details, the look, the feeling....well I cant tell you how nice this house is cause you really have to see it for yourself, so get your ass to the in world store, you won't be disappointed but be ware, you might end up walking the stairs along side that girl ;)
very well done house
great textures, great design, it really stands out, you can resize it too and everything lines up perfectly and fits right, doors work perfectly after a resize too.
and customer support is A+
5/5
I absolutely adore this house....how someone could possibly make this, I have no idea!
The textures are beautifully done and line up perfectly. The time and skill put into designing this and the attention to detail are to be highly commended.
Over the past 2 weeks I've visited the demo inworld a bunch of times just to marvel at it and compare it to other victorian builds, and none have compared.
A suggestion for the creator though....perhaps its worth releasing this house again with less shabby textures, like how it would have looked back in its hayday. I'd love to see that.
Thanks!
Great Spooky House
This is a very nice build with very good textures and great atmosphere
