Size of this Sea Kayak hull design matches up with sweet spot right in middle of the most popular kayaks. At 4.5 meters it is just about in middle of 3.0 to 5.5 meter RL range for sea kayaks. Width of 1.0 meters gives sea kayak proportions a graceful look and also fits well with most avatar sizes.
For comparison, sea kayaks are generally at least 20 percent shorter than their big brothers the touring kayaks which are longer and leaner sort of like a clipper ship version of a kayak.
If needed you can rescale this sea kayak by touching black cargo netting. You can make it quite a bit larger or smaller with the rescale menu that appears on your viewer screen. But, it will always retain its sea kayak shape proportions as you rescale. If needed, you can also adjust sitting position to your avatar by using AVsitter menu that appears on your viewer screen whenever you sit on kayak to paddle.
When you sit to paddle you are first in a resting animation I made so you gently move paddle in your hands and look around in casual manner. When you use keyboard direction arrows (or your on-screen motion control arrows) you automatically change to kayak paddling animation as you steer canoe.
I made authentic paddling animation and resting animation myself to give you feeling of relaxed control as you paddle rivers and lakes and open seas with easy forward grace and a useful backward paddle as well. Every time you stop your avatar automatically goes back to resting animation until you decide to begin paddling again.
Paddle appears in right hand when worn. You can reposition it in your hand if you like, but just in case save a copy with my original hand position. You can adjust scale of paddle if needed by touching paddle scoop end for rescale menu to appear on viewer screen. You can also change color of paddle scoop ends by keying one of nine color options in /3 chat channel: lime, green, orange, yellow, blue, red, pink, white and black.
Kayak has seven speeds carefully chosen to give you graceful feeling of gliding over water as you carefully paddle about and explore. Fifth speed is what you might expect a top athlete to reach during a competition. I added two more higher speeds because this is SL and many have a need for a little more speed. Use jump up and jump down arrows on your viewer motion controller to change speeds. Speed chosen is whispered to you in chat so you see that speed change has been made and which of seven speeds is currently chosen.
You can change color of sea kayak hull by keying one of nine color options in /2 chat channel: lime, green, orange, yellow, blue, red, pink, white and black. Hatches and seat remain charcoal in color and netting remains black (this is classic sea kayak color scheme).
Selection of nine colors is same for kayak and paddle. But hull and paddle use different chat channels so you can control kayak and paddle colors separately to mix or match colors.
Your view as you first sit is close behind kayak at angle of 30 degrees down to give a calm and complete perspective on kayak and surroundings as you paddle.
View selection as you paddle is really important. So, this kayak gives you most complete control of your view as you paddle. You can select among six views of kayak as you paddle using my exclusive keyboard control view selection.
The six views are: 1 - behind stern, 2 - behind paddler, 3 - from paddler's eyes, 4 - from bow of kayak, 5 - elevated view from stern, and 6 - more elevated view from stern.
Land weight is 71 because of fine mesh details... notice amount of authentic looking cargo netting.
One more feature you will enjoy with this latest version is cruise control. Key "hold" in chat or /2 private chat to activate cruise control. You will see a private chat message confirming your ability to hold kayak on speed level you select and can change speed level up or down anytime. Key "release" anytime you want to return to normal operation of your keyboard controls.

Good, BUT...
I think it's a very good kayak but it lacks:
- sound effects: would have been nice if it had paddling and gliding in the water sounds;
- no mod, so we can't add a "rocking" script;
- only 2 poses, Rest or Paddle.
