amazing
thank you
1024x1024 probably not good size for Second Life
Diffuse tile nothing but almost plane white with some grades of grey, most certainly were no need to made 4x4 cause repeatable, so diffuse is far from anything exciting.
But keeping in mind name of brand, no big brains to figure that idea of this package is material textures (normals and speculars). Ones can be applied on way better tiles from any other creator, no matter how many tiles on texture. And for free? Absolutely bargain, even with some thoughts at bottom of my 5 star review.
While we live in era of 4K and 8K screens. SL is ancient and uses max of 1024x1024 px textures. So for many 1024x1024 will be lowest size to upload texture, yet if thinking about Second Life as online 3D sandbox with thousands of people, and legacy of dozen years creations that will anyway not gives crisp and sharp images comparing to modern game titles, cause creation with 1024x1024 will be next to a one with 512 or 256 or even less texture sizes, that applied not on unreasonable curved heavy LOD mesh, but on sculpt or even regular prim.
1024x1024 for such not a central piece of living area is wasting of resources to my mind. Also modern viewers uses compression, that enabled by default, that at least compresses right that 1024x1024 sized texture so all details in materials are loaded with way more noticable artifacts unless you disable it. And after using twice compressions (first one on server side for any uploaded texture, and second for viewer side for any big textures), artefacts are most noticable on materials.
512x512 would be better size for current tiles material effects.
Of course its all related to Second Life ecosystem that is old and hardly handles modern visual expectations comparing to AAA titles or even other online games.
And while it may seemed important of not using 1024 when not need, it still not an issue cause textures are full perm, can be easily saved to hard drive, resized, and reupload for more SL ecofriendly using.
So 5 stars.
