Wilder Skies ( Niki Wilder ) & Astral Technologies ( Joe Sparrow )
Are proud to present The G- 21 Grumman Goose
Flying from Wall Street to WWII
The idea for the Goose came in 1936, when a group of wealthy industrialists, including Henry Morgan, Marshall Field and E.R. Harriman, wanted an easier way to commute from their homes on Long Island ( Where Niki Grew up : ) ) to the financial district of Wall Street. They commissioned Roy Grumman to build ten airplanes that could take off from their private air strips and land on the water near the financial district.
By the end of World War Two, nearly 350 Gooses (they are never referred to as Geese) had been built. They helped the U.S. military and our allies with fast and reliable transportation to remote locations all over the world.
Grumman Model G-21 was designed as a light amphibious transport. Grumman produced a high-wing monoplane of almost all-metal construction—the trailing half of the main wing and all of the flight control surfaces except for the flaps were fabric-covered. It was powered by two 450 horsepower (340 kW) Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp Junior nine-cylinder, air-cooled, radial engines mounted on the leading edges of the wings. The deep fuselage served also as a hull and was equipped with hand-cranked retractable landing gear. First flight of the prototype took place on May 29, 1937.[2]
The fuselage also proved versatile, as it provided generous interior space that allowed fitting for either a transport or luxury airliner role. Having an amphibious configuration also allowed the G-21 to go just about anywhere, and plans were made to market it as an amphibian airliner.[3]

Poses?
Great plane, but the decision to effectively lock the pilot out of the nice poses (unless you land in a rez zone) is odd.
Its ok...
So i really wanted to love this plane. Wilder skies was one of the first products I started with back in the day when I first found aviation in SL. The plane model itself is great, I love the look and the sound. A few issues I seem to have with it.... if I have a passenger, they ALWAYS fall out of the plane on the first crossing after I take off. Every. Single. Time. The propeller animations tend to stop on about half of the sim crossings. This thing WILL nose dive randomly.
Fun to fly, but with the quirks is has it won't be something I will want to fly on a normal basis, and definitely not when i want to bring a passenger along
Buyer Beware
its an nice plane. but flying this is not fun the nose goes down in all speed so 2 stars for the plane rest is shit
Amazing & Product Awesome L@@KS
This is one of the finest and smoothest sim-crossing planes I've ever flown in SL, Love all the details, Ty
It Flies
I think the rest of the reviewers were friends of the builder.
Yes it flies & to be fair flies well, but you have to watch it. If you want to fly this plane, you have your work cut out, the height especially needs constant monitoring.
This is not a 'set & forget' plane, any distractions & you could be in trouble.....WATCH OUT!
This is a fine airplane
I've flown in SL since 2007 and I tried everything from the crappiest freebie to those very complex helicopters by you-know-who. What you have here is a very decent and stable aircraft which is moddable, and which doesn't have an off-the-shelf drop-in script.
It could do with a dropbox link for PSD/Gimp files. I'll say that much.
