It's partially usable, but not completely.
The Stairs have a section that poke through the walls:

So to use it at all and not have that you have to set the section (face) of the stairs to 100 percent transparent to avoid having this show through. I take it a step further and set it to completely phantom so that there's no way it creates walking issues too.
