While seated, click on the bench to change sit positions.
Click the settings symbol in the menu and use your arrow and 'fly' keys* to change your sit position.

~ TBF Chess Game Instructions ~
Before starting a game, click the side of the table to get a setup menu for the chess game. You can set the chess piece colors and the time-out time.
Click on the chess board to start as Player 1. Clicking on a chess piece will lift it up. Clicking on a destination will move the hovering chess piece to that position. Clicking it again will trigger validation of the move. If the move is valid, the piece will be put down on the new position. If it is not valid, the piece will snap back to its original position. Another move has to be made. After the first move, clicking on the chess board will identify Player 2. This can be the same person as Player 1, but need not be.
Clicking a chess piece from a low viewing angle (more or less from side-view) may result in selection of the wrong chess piece. The wrong piece can simply be put down by clicking on it again. Try clicking a chess piece from a higher viewing angle instead.
The chess board contains many invisible pieces that may be in the way when trying to select a piece. Press control-alt-t to highlight transparency, to get an idea how the invisible pieces are positioned on the board and how to circumvent them in your attempt to select the correct piece. The presence of invisible pieces on the board is a requirement (ironically) in order to keep the land impact of the chess game low (Land Impact = 6).
During a game, clicking the side of the table will bring up a menu with the options 'Undo' and 'Resign'.

Just Exceptional
This set is attractive, low LI, enjoyable to use, and terrific value for your L$s. It set up easily out of the box, and play is easy and intuitive. I had a question, and the vendor responded and helped me out immediately--awesome customer service. Read the notecards and have fun. Great chess!
LOVE THAT ITS INTERACTIVE
This is interactive, and of great quality and easy to use. I placed it in the community park area on my sim and people love using it!
My Favorite Chess Set In Second Life
Easy to see, easy to play, low prim and looks amazing! I have several items from this creator including several games and they're all as well done. I have had to ask the creator a question in the past and I received a very prompt and polite response. Can't go wrong with this creator.

A Very Good Chess Set
Okay, the playing area is just over 2.5 times as large as the Dutchie Chess Set, and the pieces are noticeably more visible -- "extreme zooming" is Not needed, although "close viewing" is.
10-LI with table, pieces, and two benches. The table is dark granite with inlaid white granite squares -- there's no separate board. It appears realistically sized, but still very playable.
Click a piece to lift it up (you sometimes have to change your camera angle to do this), click the square you want it to "hover" over, then click the piece itself again to "drop" it onto the square. This takes a small bit of practice.
The moves seemed quick (and I'm in a significant-lag sim).
illegal moves, checks, and checkmate were all recognized and checks/mate reported in Nearby Chat. You can't castle to get out of check -- I'm not sure that's a chess rule. After removal of a check, castling is again allowed.
Nice!
a real nice chess set with great detail and low prims, perfect! thank you!
