Notes:
Papyrus scrolls came in 5 different shapes. "wall" "table" "writing" sculpt maps have the same bounding box, means they can be scripted to visual animate (using standard sculpt changer script). Of course texture will need adjustments to every state so do not forget to add it in script if you would like to have such option. There are absent mesh version of "wall" scroll.
Sculpt maps are reduced polygons using. Means they loads faster, load less yours graphic card, more SL eco-friendly.
Sculpt maps are shine resistant, in high settings of SHININESS flat parts of scrolls will stay ideal metal reflected as at regular prims.
While it is not big deal to set ANY regular texture with repeats at this sculpt maps, best effect will be only with creating special texture for it. For this case in package texture grid exist that you need to save at hard disk and upload it to yours graphical editor, that will lead you through understanding where to apply yours texture comparing texture grid applied at sculpt map and in yours editor . For correct applying texture inside package texture grid script exist. It covers sculpt map with texture grid.
Package includes also mesh version of this items (exclude wall version), it absolutely the same looking to sculpt version, It was made much later then sculpt map, and may use in most cases to keep prims. For example 2 linked together versions of mesh mirror will take 1 prim from while 2 sculpt versions will take 2 prims. But in some cases aka much bigger size, mesh version will increase of prim cost, while sculpt still stay 1 prim. As well as some linksets with mesh prim in them can raise LI to stars, while using sculpt version keep it normal. It is basics of SL land impact system, so both versions may have own use.
Use Instructions:
- This package contains scripts. To use the script, please carefully follow these steps.
1. Create a prim.
2. Raise this newly created prim to approximately 2 meters above the ground (or above the platform upon which you are standing).
3. Drag the script to the contents of the newly created prim.
Note: This will automatically create a ready-to-use object; fully textured, the right size, and with your name as Creator. The script will auto-delete from the prim upon completion, so no need to worry about its removal. While the script runs, you may see some distortion of the sculpted object. This is normal as a result of forcing a sculpt map to load in some regions. After script auto-removes from the content of the prim, your new object is ready.
Caveat:
I have never had the following problems with my sculpt, but we are aware that this can happen: If the object continues to appear distorted, please force loading of the sculpt map by checking or unchecking the mirror and invert flags ont the Edit -> Object Tab of the sculpt. If the problem continues, please check your LoD settings and your network connection to the SL server. If you don't know how to check these settings and connections, please ask your more-experienced friends for help.
- Mesh version you cannot change creator or create it from clean list, it is how SL works. sculpt has no such caveats.
- Mesh version may and will increase prim cost on resizing. It is how SL works.
You personal license allows:
- use sculpt maps / mesh as part of own creations;
- keep in 1(one) of yours alts.
You NOT allowed;
- To sell, share, gift, transfer sculpt maps / mesh as images, UUID, content of object, part of texture packs or list to any other person;
- To give away full perm part of yours creation that contains this sculpt map or mesh. you need to select one of the next permissions, or no copy, or no modify, or no transfer;
- To transfer with default textures coming in package;
- To transfer through grids and use outside Secondlife.
