Why you need these? Throughout the day sunbeams enter a building from different angles along an arc in the sky extending from east to west. Say you have a house with windows facing east, west and also one window on the roof and you have purchased sunbeams from my store or from others and you would like to have sunbeams to automatically appear and dessapear as coming through each of these windows depending on the position of the sun during the day.

The set of scripts and easy to follow configuration files contained in this kit allows you to implement just that in any house or building using sunbeams bought from me or any other sculpted sunbeams you have permission to modify and copy.

For example, once the scripts and configuration files are put into each corresponding sunbeams prim inventory, as soon as the day breaks in, sunbeams will appear in your east facing window. Then these sunbeams will slowly dessapear when the sun no longer illuminates the floor in front this window. A while later, when the sun is closer to its highest point in the sky, the sunbeams you put under your roof window will slowly appear and remain visible until the sun reached a certain point beyong the zenith. Finally, by mid afternoon the sunbeams on the windows facing west will appear and then slowly start to desapear at dusk.

The scripts are copy+nomod and fully configurable through a configuration file, where you can adjust how often each sunbeam checks for the sun position, how slowly they fade in and out and the maximum levels of glow and transparency they reach.

The configuration file comes preconfigured to work with a west facing window and also includes the values you need for implementing auto switching sunbeams on east facing windows and roof windows.

The script and configuration files that controls the sunbeams comes in two versions. One of them is used on child prims when you link more than one sunbeams prim. That way the script that goes into the root sunbeams prim will check run the timer that controls how often the prims check for the position of the sun and also listen for, react to and pass along your commands to the rest of the prims in the linkset, so you save on script resources having only one script running a timer and listening for your commands instead of all prims in the linkset doing the same.

The ideal sunbeams to use these kit with are (Pixelwear) Sunbeams (Resize and Tintable) --See related items below.
