The Defender-class boat, also called Response Boat – Small (RB-S) and Response Boat – Homeland Security (RB-HS), is a standard boat introduced by the United States Coast Guard in 2002. The boats serves a variety of missions, including search and rescue, port security and law enforcement duties and replaces a variety of smaller non-standard boats.[4]
The design length of the hull is 25 feet and the boat is officially referred to as such. However, the overall length with engines mounted is approximately 29 feet (8.8 m). Powered by twin 225 hp (168 kW) outboard motors, they are capable of speeds excess of 46 knots (85 km/h) and have a range of 150 to 175 nautical miles (324 km), depending on the class. The boat requires a minimum crew of two persons, but has a carrying capacity for 10 persons. The boat is easily trailer able and can be transported by a C-130 Hercules aircraft or truck.[5]
Although superficially similar to a rigid-hulled inflatable boat, the Defender is actually an aluminum-hulled vessel, equipped with a hard foam-filled flotation collar. The boats are built by SAFE Boats International (Secure All-around Flotation Equipped) of Port Orchard, Washington, a vendor of government and law enforcement boats.
Design
The Defender class utilizes a rigid deep-V hull constructed of marine grade aluminum. While similar in appearance to the sponson of a rigid-hulled inflatable boat the Defender's collar is actually made from rigid polyethylene foam. The boat is powered by two 225 horsepower (168 kW) outboard engines, usually Honda four-strokes though Mercury and Johnson engines have also been used. Tow bitts are fitted forward and aft which also serve as mounting points for M240B or M60 machine guns.[5]

SO AWSOME!
this is a great boat to have, 5 stars all the way, the hid is a bit confusing at first, and the lights system, but once you know what you're doing, nothing can stop you! this is great, and i will use it alot, in my SLPD job ^_^
Job well done!
I must say I was amazed, I have seen a bout like this on the marketplace that was alittle high but this was worth it. Very well looking ship that will get you anywhere at sea. I must was again amazed on the images that were shot hope to use it with law enforcement at sometime.
Defender boat
I hate boats, this ones kinda cool, I bought of few of his before I was able to remove all the police markings from this and use it for pluckign peopel from the water sof SL after they get dumped or their fancy mesh boats fails to cross sims leaving them stranded out in the middle of nowhere. This at least even if its attachment don't have the issues the barrage of mesh defenders have like poor sim crossings, annoyingly high prim counts, and derezzing constantly or people cannot see your till your right next to them cause of poor lod on mesh. After pissing money away on expensive bad ones, this was cool to get good free one..
JP's Police Defender/Interceptor: A Review by Arlio
From the outset, this particular model appears to be designed to please the owner/operator. From initial REZ to patrolling inner harbours and the deep blue sea, everything on this boat runs smoothly and does exactly what it is asked of it. Whilst the HUD attachment is obvious, its simplicity lends assistance to what otherwise might be a keyboard intensive simulation. If I was asked to provide a critical analysis, I could only argue the three view options are a little bit limiting, and being Australian, I would like the option of attaching an Australian flag. However, this boat is a lot of fun, and although it is a freebie, I would have paid for it. Excellent build, great detail, easy to operate: 4/5 : )
